I was just doing my usuall window shopping here at the local guitar row (sunset strip). I went in SAM ASH MUSIC STORE and it just so happends that they have a Legacy half stack on the floor. I plugged an Ibanez Prestige neck-thru with a thick flame maple top (first time I've seen this model). Tried the amp and the guitar out. Now, the only Carvin I've had owned was the old X100B. That was a good amp but I tell you this Legacy was better. You can tweak the channel well enough to get a good clean and distorted sound. The reverb helps a lot too with the overall sound. Like what Phil said, this amp is a good lead amp, I think it's also a good rhythm amp. I was able to get a nice creamy bluesy sound to a nasty nu metal grind. The only thing that I noticed, and this is not a negative thing, is that the RIVERA M-100 that was beside the Legacy, to me have a cleaner more controllable clean sound. But hey, that's just me. All in all I would say that this amp is a nice overall amp to have in your collection. Now, next time I'll go to Carvin and try their CTM model through the Legacy and the V3 and see how much blown away I can get my self into, hehe. And that concludes my report.
