Got a text from Rey of The Sattelites Band last night, he confirms their participation on Dec. 19 and they will play the nine songs on the set list.

For the record, it's only this group that didn't change songs on list

By the way Mr. Max Rufo, one if not the best luthier in town and the Filipino inventor (patent pending) of true noiseless single coil pick ups also confirms his attendance.

damn...nakakainggit yung venue...is that goff macaraeg's violin bass (like the one paul mccartney used to play) in the last pic?  visited his studio once on a "business trip" with my former band, and that's one of the things i remember seeing in the studio...

anyway, george, regarding your suggestions, at sensya na't di ako makareply...i'm conserving my non-globe texts.  i may have replied to you regarding these, but for everyone's benefit...

- nope, we cannot be picky when it comes to equipment at this point...we only have little more than 2 weeks to go.  we can possibly scout for an alternative venue in case di pumayag ang genre, but i already gave them the downpayment (c/o rommel, thanks for helping us out with the logistics/finance side!) and we just need to wait for their approval.  let's be content with what they have, which is fairly standard for clubs (two guitar amps, a bass amp and standard microphones/speakers AFAIK).    and if (knock on wood) we don't get approved, the downpayment is refundable.  receipts are with me...
- regarding genre's approval, i don't want to be too overconfident but i'd say there's a 90% chance.  why?  dahil walang metal bands, at dahil lima lang ang mga bandang tutugtog.  this isn't a "millions of bends" production which could potentially last till the wee hours.  if we set call time at 5:30 PM and start at around 6-6:30, we should have no problem wrapping up by 11.
- let's do it first come first play.  ideally last yung all-stars, but in most productions, it's first come, first play.  i understand we're trying to develop professionalism by coming up with a set order, but due to circumstances, not all of us may be complete by 6 PM.  for one, may out of town yung gitarista ng brokensauce so there's a chance he'll be a bit late...
- on the proposal i submitted to genre, the all-stars are the "PBT (Philmusic Beatles Thread) All Stars", but i guess we can always call ourselves something else.  rubberband men sounds okay, mainly because it reminds me of kate bush's 1993-94 hit "rubberband girl"...that, and of course, rubber soul...
- baka may mga food preferences kayo.  dadalhin ko yung menu ng alan's grill sa sunday, dun na natin pagusapan sa practice.  this is for the 7K bar guarantee, BTW...genre needs a good estimate/guesstimate of how much beer/non-alcoholic drinks/food will be needed for the 50 guests i'm hoping would show up...

if we continue to remain positive, everything should fall into place.   rommel, thanks again for the logistics/financial help and george, thanks for making sure everything musical is taken care of.  :-D

Thanks too Enzo, Bryan is always of great help, giving us the right dose of medicines  to take  & Rommel not just for the wonderful things you did but for bringing Edwin too.

brokensauce set list still pending...eto yung sa Vast Difference.

1.  i call your name
2.  i wanna be your man
3.  hey bulldog
4.  back in the USSR
5.  helter skelter

we do have a bit of a bassist situation but we've got some candidates on hand whom we hope would be able to join us in the next practice.  kung wala talaga, we'll do it modified white stripes style, meaning vocalist and guitarist (parang nahati si jack white) and drummer (parang naging lalake si meg white).

di ko nga pala nadiscuss yung food sa last practice...demmet...   :-(  sinabi ko na lang muna na walang specific preferences, though that may be subject to change.  does anyone know if we can invite a lot of beer drinkers to the event?  i'm trying to figure out if there would be more drinkers vs non-drinkers, or vice versa.  it would be nice, too, if the family men in here could bring their wives and kids to the event.   :-)  alan's grill is a family-friendly place, and genre is, after all, on the 2nd floor of alan's...

@PTG update ko kayo sa thread natin sa AGT.   :-)  dun na tayo magkita-kita!  or, baka gusto mong magbass para sa amin kung wala pa ring mahanap...will be a departure from your grunge/metal influences though...

John with first wife Cynthia POwell

John seldomly use a Gretsch guitar. He is usually seen with his favorite Rickenbacker & Epiphone casino

President Barrack Obama thanking Paul

John's sons (Julian & Sean) & wives (Yoko & Cynthia)

John & George

Ringo with his new guitar

Dyugs (Itchyworms) can't appear for the All Star Band to sing a tune or two. He might undergo surgery for his throat (polyp) if the oral medicine he's taking now will not remove it. He wants our prayer brothers in arms as he text all his friends early this morning

I was thinking of calling the PBT All-stars:
1. Edu Manzanas
2. Blue Seal Valdez (c/o Rommel!)
3. Doaryebba
4. Vilma Santols
5. The Revolvers

Pero it's too late to do something like that so PBT All-stars it is.

If we get the program rolling, I might attempt to be the MC of the event. Tutal PBT lang naman ang slot ko.
