mga sir which do you prefer the 13inch or 14inch hihat

depende sa volume na hanap mo.. smaller diameter cymbals have less volume pero more control as compared to bigger diameter cymbals with more volume pero somehow washy na ung sound.. meron pa nga 15" hats eh.. depende talaga sa genre and preferred sound setting mo.. :wink:

habang lumalaki ang diameter ng cymbals and hats, mas nagiging louder and higher sa pitch. i prefer 13" kasi mas mas madali ma-control and for me, mas versatile.

Sir hindi ba mas nagiging lower yung pitch pag mas lumalaki? :-)

ask ko lang sir, i have 14" zbt hats, balak ko ipa resize to 13" mas hihina po ba sya?? :|

yep hihina siya. not to mention na medyo mag-out of whack yung tunog niya pag iparesize mo.
resizing should only be done with damaged cymbals out of which you're trying to salvage some value / utility. it's a bad idea to do it to cymbals that are otherwise fine as it could ruin the sound of the cymbal--it wouldn't automatically sound like simply the next size down. andami kasing factors sa tunog ng cymbal, di lang alloy at diameter, at yung isa sa importanteng factors, ang taper, ay nagugulo / nasisira ng basta bastang pagresize ng cymbal.
kung gusto mo ng 13" hats, unang una ay susbukan mo muna kung ayos ba sa yo yung tunog niya. malay mo di mo pala gusto yung tunog. sa tenga ko, tunog laruan ang 13" e. kung sakali mang magustuhan mo, benta mo yung 14" mo at saka bili ka na lang ng 13", kesa paresize ka na (1) baka sablay ang tunog, at (2) mahihirapan ka ibenta kasi modified na.

sorry di ko napansin yung type ko ZBT po, hehe,

ask ko po mas matinis po ba and mas mahina ang 13" K's / A's compare sa ZBT 14"??

sakin 14...kasi mas abot kahit malayo sayo yung hats pag sa set-up ng double peds...at syempre mas malaki yung tunog...

I commonly use 14". Minsan nga, pwede ka magcustomize ng mga hi-hats with other bigger sizes like 16" (WTF) just to give an wide and earthy sound (but not recommended all the time).

pakinggan kung anung maganda sa tenga..
marami factors..and ung pitch ndi cya nagbbago primarily or its size...
example zildjian 13" na hat almost same pitch with sabian 14" pero darker naman..or brighter
dami factors...weight/ ung series ng cymbals...etc..bottom line let ur ears decide..
and ndi porket ginamit ni ganitong artist eh gagayahin mo na rin..
sample nlng c Marco Minnemann meron cya 8" hats, 10" hats sa set nya..pero main nya is 14 or 13..
meron pang drummer c John Myer 18 inches ung main hats nya..
listen to both hats na pinagpipilian mo...anyway natututo naman ung EARS natin..
100% may tunog ka na hahanapin...so let that be the start of your journey in finding the right hats for you bro..
