Good day!
The clone of Wampler's Triple Wreck... The Rectorizer made by PLUG Electronics (plugzzz). To say the least, this pedal is a MESA Boogie Triple Rectifier in a box. Very versatile high gain distortion pedal I love it!
So let's go to my review:
Sound: I love the bass response in this pedal, CHUG CHUG machine! If you're familiar with Mark Tremonti's sound, it's close to it. But if you wanna go trebley, there would be no problem on this very versatile pedal. From bluesy crunch to NU metal, the possibilities are endless. Even at high gain, the notes are still clear. Again, the bass response of this pedal is what makes so special... You gotta hear it personally. It's Triple Wreck clone, it's 100% like Triple Wreck.
Ease of use: Controls present in this pedal are Bass, Mid, Treble, Gain, Volume/Level, Gain and the Crunch/Smooth. Say what?! Crunch/Smooth control? Yes, Crunch/Smooth control. How to use it? Just step on the Boost switch and dial the Crunch/Smooth control to get that Metal Muff sound... very warm I should say. It's really hard to explain but it's there and it sounds good.
There are also Vintage and Warm Mode Control. Vintage says MESA Boogie Triple Rectifier... and for me the Warm mode is like a Marshall mode. Again, very versatile.
Durability & Looks: Looks great, MESA looks, like a MESA Amp converted into a pedal. Durablity, this is built for war, heavy and very sturdy... this thing will last forever.
Verdict: I've always liked the MESA Triple Recto amp, I love the sound of it... Wampler's Triple Wreck made it a possiblity but Plugzzz Rectorizer made it happen! Easy to use pedal, versatile and durable. For the price I paid, it's a steal. Made from premium parts, it really sounds good. Plug it into any amplifiers, I say it'll still sound great. Just perfect for my set-up.
- Demo by Plugzzz with my actual unit of the Rectorizer... I say you gotta hear it personally... much much much better.

When we had a shootout at plugzz place back then I didn't pay attention to it since I was so amazed by the Pinnacle that he had and I wasn't really looking for a high gain pedal back then but after that di na nawala sa isip ko yung tunog ng rectorizer. I thought I was already contented with the recti channel on my Vox Bulldog but after I compared it against the Rectorizer the Vox Bulldog sounded thin and lifeless unlike the Rectorizer which has full bodied distortion.
To those who wants to try it you can just go to Plugz place sa likod ng SM north. Accommodating naman siya eh and I assure you that when comparing the Rectorizer and the Triple wreck you will probably hear no difference same with the Pinnacle and Eruption...... Wala na lang sisihan kung magka-GAS kayo dun.

Very true! Parang unang chug chug ko pa lang yata sabi ko kay Plugzzz, "tol kukunin ko na yan ha". Para sa akin ang pinaka-strength talaga ng Rectorizer yung bass response, ang taba ng tunog at yung versatility... thanks to the Vintage & Warm Mode. Tama rin si sir Lykenhowl, buong buo ang tunog at any level of gain.

Yup! I thought you could easily raise the price for the unit since "limited edition" at pinaka unang MESA look design... but you still gave it to me at a fair and reasonable price.
Ganyan kahusay si Plugzzzz, he even showed me the premium parts for the Rectorizer.

When i heard Plugzzz's demo of this pedal (Thanks bro, you were kind enough to record me a clip using your C30), kahit hindi ka fan ng recto sounds, magugustuhan mo ito.
Kung hindi ka familiar sa amp voicings, hindi mo iisipin na based siya sa Mesa Boogie. I mean, you can get your own sound with the pedal. I was actually looking for a thick and heavy distortion sometime back, hindi ko inisip na voiced siya after a Recto. Basta nagustuhan ko lang yung bigat niya at yung nag-uumapaw na gain.
Medyo nahinder lang ako sa pagpapagawa kasi nakahanap ako ng ok na dist sa tube amp. But that's a different story.
Long story short, this is one good pedal for getting your desired thick and heavy dist sound regardless of its voicing. Metal to Classic and Heavy Rock, palagay ko sisiw lang dito. :-)

not into trade right now kasi solve nako sa recto-rizer built ko and yung toneczar clone so im not looking for other dirt pedals..its that great sounding naka stambay nalang yung koch pedaltone ko lol...

pre dapat ako magpasalamat sa'yo... da best talaga Rectorizer. Nakalimutan ko na nga na clone 'to ng Triple Wreck eh. :lol:
Again dun sa mga oorder pa lang or interested, subukan nyo... Kung tingin nyo maganda na sa soundclip, much better if papakinggan personally. I mentioned it lots of time, sasabihin ko ulit... this is NOT your typical "metal zone", I like to call it "MESA Boogie Triple Rectifier in A Box"
If time permits at nakaluwag dito sa bahay, yung mga malapit sa place ko pwede mag-test... bring your guitar, and if possible practice amp lang para malaman din natin kung fit sa set-up nyo. Isa-isa lang ha, maliit lang itong condo unit ko :-D. Of course, ordering and transactions go through plugzzzz, for testing purposes yung akin and NO mine is NOT for sale, never will be.

And ilang Db ang boost nito? depende sa crunch/muff knob can try the pedal at my place bring your setup see if it works for you

naka-first hand experience na rin ako sa Rectorizer tsaka Plexitron!

Got the chance to try out this Rectorizer.
All I can say is, kahit talaga hindi ka fan ng Mesa or Rectifier sounds, magugustuhan mo ito. It's one huge sounding pedal, as a friend told me "kakainin pati bandmates mo".
The EQ is very versatile. Hindi mahirap makahanap ng sweet spot. Set the knobs at 12 o'clock and start tweaking from there. In less than 3 minutes, makukuha mo yung tunog na gusto mo, or at least, I did. :-)
You can turn the mids up and you'll still sound big. Not too mid scooped pero maganda pa rin, great heavy rock tunes na hindi lubog sa mix. You won't be needing an OD or EQ pedal para iboost siya. Siguradong lilitaw.
Treble control is also very responsive. Turn it up to get a more gainy sounding sharp sound. It can give you a really trebly sound when turned up pero it can also make a good rounded and smooth tone pag binabaan.
Bass control is shiz. If you want to crush the ground, turn it up! :lol:
I haven't fiddled with it much, though. Eto lang yung mga strong points na napansin ko agad.
Don't take the pedal as a one-trick high gain pony. You'll also like it for low gain. Mind you, it's not a clean booster. Zeroing the gain will still give you a bit of drive. Pero it's a really smooth low gain tune. Just enough for those sweet mellow and bluesy jazzy tones.
Vintage and Modern switch. Actually, I was thinking if I can get a plexi kind of sound from the vintage mode. Don't kill me trying to get a plexi sound from a Mesa emulator. Haha. :lol: Hmm. I'll get back on this one. Need to tweak some more.
Yung modern mode, it's more aggressive sounding. I like it as well. Kumbaga yung vintage ay medyo fat ang dating, itong modern, mas in-your-face.
About the Boost, haven't tweaked it much din pero it's like a thick fuzz (like a Muff as most people say) when maxed towards the cream setting.
Marami pang hindi ko nattweak sa pedal na ito. It still has a lot to offer. :-)
Lastly, I'm a sucker for checking out the guts of every pedal I get to lay my hands on. Stephen ain't kidding when he say's he's using all high quality parts! Grabe. Malaman ang loob. Bowteek goodness. Pag nagpapagawa ako ng DIY pedals ko, I always request the builder for the highest quality parts. pero itong Rectorizer niya, 100% talaga. Hindi ka bibiguin sa piyesa, walang pagtitipid. From the resistors, capacitors, input and output jacks (mala MXR, though his jacks feel better than MXR's!).
By the way, it has a battery clip inside. :-)
This is an amazing pedal. Was greatly impressed. I dare say it, it might kill the Barber Dirty Bomb. It doesn't sound harsh (with treble) even at loud volumes, it's very balanced. Pedal seems really sturdy.

Just bought one second hand from a fellow forumer. This thing kills. The bottom end is just yummy hehe. Used it for practice yesterday using a Laney LV300, it cuts through real good, kapal ng tunog. Very versatile as well. I could dial in tight thrash tones using the Vintage mode. The modern modern mode with the boost on is just straight up wicked \m/

just wanna clarify my ads sir... hindi po ito galing kay bulldozer.. sa 22o lng hinabol ko din ung gear na bibneta ni bulldozer last time kc mura talaga nya binenta para sana sa isa naming gitarista.. and from what he told me, si sir gunslinger nga ata nka book ng deal.. im not sure what happened... pero hindi po ito yun... sana liwanagin muna bago mag conclude... salamats...

hi guys musta im based in dubai now anung kaguluhan to medyo bihira nako naka pag PM. sa mga nag pm sakin inquiring kung gumagawa pako ng pedal? kahit gustuhin ko man di ako makakagawa walang bilihan ng electronic components at materials dito and shipping it to philippines parang di praktikal kasi mahal. anyways salamat sa mga tumangkilik sa plugelectronics pag balik ko nalang pinas gawa ako ulit

Atleast malinaw lng ung add ko mga sir... anyway gunslinger13, bro bulldozer1369 played last night at the TRIBUTE TO A BROTHER show, he is still using his rectorizer, (he even painted it red),... then i asked him if its still for sale, turns out its no longer for sale...

Amazing pedal! REAAAALLYYYY versatile gain pedal.
Ginagamit nyo pa ba mga rectorizer nyo? :-P
Is this thing compatible with one-spot type of PSU's or will that create unwanted noise? Medyo maingay kasi yung akin.

I used a 1spot, Godlyke, Boss PSA, Kenzu, Behringer and a generic PSU on my Recto. Still buzzes so ended up selling it. The guy that got it tried it for a couple of days then sold it as well. I dunno who has it na...

IIRC tahimik naman sya pag pre 12 o'clock ng knobs. Eto yung una kong natry na high gain pedal kaya I thought it was normal na may noise pag mataas yung gain

It would have stayed with me while I was still using the Marshall 8040 kaya lang I comparo'd it with a Triple Wreck and the latter was less noisy...

Was the tone close though? I never tried Triple Wreck yet but I guess if close yung sound it would be a good alternative para sa mga naghahanap ng mas affordable na high gain pedal
