when i was there i got to try guitars fitted with dimarzio's duncans and other well known brands and i could honestly say that Sir ARCEE and Rafael's pickups are up to par with them.
i'm also lucky enough to be early hehehe! when i went there hindi pa pila ang trabaho.

I was at the shop earlier today to give them the parts I acquired for my strat custom. I saw their "workshop" and how they did the guitars, it was very nice and they were very kind specially Raphael, whom I confirmed, he is my gradeschool classmate. :lol: I also got to try the PRS semi hollow custom they made, overall I'd give it a 9/10. Playability a sure 10/10, sound would be 8.5/10, finish and looks a 9/10. :lol:
Can't wait for my custom, sana Feb na hehe. :lol:

Pacita complex is relatively near/is adjacent to southwoods, that should give you an idea on how far it is from alabang. di naman malayo. :-)
sir salamats.. actually natext ko na ang mga owners ng arcee.. sabi nila sakin 30-45 mins daw yun from alabang.. sobrang lapit lang sa place ko..
sa text pa lang very accpmodating na sila e.. pag kakuha ko ng pera ko papa-ayos ko na sakanila yung guitar ko.. :-D

guys, galing ako kanila sir Ruel kanina lang. I checked on my custom guitar and settled some of the balance. :lol:
anyway, I was able to try their tele-strat hybrid which was mostly done by Raph. Stupid me forgot to take photos. The guitar was very, very, and I MEAN VERY IMPRESSIVE, specially the pickups Raph made himself (seriously, made-not just re-wound or something). Those single coils he made easily puts the Texas Specials to shame, seriously. I've tried it on my friend's strat, walang binatbat dun sa gawa ni Raph. It was his first project btw, and it wasn't bad at all. In fact, it's a lot better than your everyday squier or even an MIM fender.
The guitar sports an ash tele body with a strat bridge and pickguard assembly, a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard with a telecaster headstock. 60's C-shape neck and block "wood" inlays. guys, galing ako kanila sir Ruel kanina lang. I checked on my custom guitar and settled some of the balance. :lol:
anyway, I was able to try their tele-strat hybrid which was mostly done by Raph. Stupid me forgot to take photos. The guitar was very, very, and I MEAN VERY IMPRESSIVE, specially the pickups Raph made himself (seriously, made-not just re-wound or something). Those single coils he made easily puts the Texas Specials to shame, seriously. I've tried it on my friend's strat, walang binatbat dun sa gawa ni Raph. It was his first project btw, and it wasn't bad at all. In fact, it's a lot better than your everyday squier or even an MIM fender.
The guitar sports an ash tele body with a strat bridge and pickguard assembly, a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard with a telecaster headstock. 60's C-shape neck and block "wood" inlays. the neck is actually from a barclay wolfgang copy that i purchased from one of the sellers here in philmusic. It used to have a lifeless plywood body but was advertised as solid mahogany ( i found out when i checked the guitar cavity when i got home and unfortunately the seller won't give my money back....go figure :roll:)

ARCEE provided the wood. it has tone chambers on both sides and the top was re-attached. but basically it all came from one piece of wood. :-D

plus, he did a neck with a skunk stripe on his first try, AFAIK, it's not the easiest type of neck to start out with. :lol:

Excited na kasi ako matapos nun yung guitar kaya basta basta na lng ako nag-cut ng wood for inlays... tsaka testing ko lng yan kung ok na inlay ang maple. don't worry though, making mistakes means I'm learning.

do you do the ff? 1. truss rod adjustments 2. intonation 3. other adjustments (action, etc...) 4. re-finish, repaint, etc... 5. custom pickguard

sir, nagi-install po ba kayo ng truss rod? wala kasing truss rod yung locally made kong gitara. gusto ko sanang palagayan. possible ba yun? if yes, how much? may sentimental value kasi askin yung gitarang yun plus sha na rin yung project guitar ko. taga Calamba lang po ako sir.

@ninen Yes we do those thing... We also do re-frets, bone nut replacements, repair cracked body and neck depending on how worse the crack is, pickup rewinding, rewiring etc... __________________________________________________________________________________________
@rakenrol Bro, I suggest palitan mo na yung neck. it would be one hell of a job kasi kung magiinstall tau ng truss rod sa neck mo. Some local guitars kasi have steel rod inside the neck pero hindi adjustable like some guitars made in cebu. So hindi tau sure kung pwede lagyan ng truss rod neck mo.

as usual call times were [strawberry] up.we advised bands to come in at 2pm for them to be able to play but yeah,rockstars rule the world and there seems to be no end to it.they came at 6pm,demanded to paly the sweetest slot which is 10pm onwards.tough luck mga tol,di pwede sa akin ganyan.

Yung materials na ginamit ko, txt ko na lng sayo.. Kakahiya kung malalaman ng ibang luthiers and pickup winders eh. :lol: Pero Yung output na ginawa ko para sa ash body is 6.9K neck, 7.06K mid, 7.13K bridge. Bakit mo paparewind? Ndi mo ba gusto tone?

I believe, the best thing to do is pay Arcee a visit. He knows more regarding what he can offer in terms of woods, customization. The guys who had stuff made only know stuff particular to their guitar so they definitely won't know what you're looking for specifically. Madami ka pa matutunan from Arcee for sure. :-D

kakagaling ko lang kanina dun nagpa intonate ako, and wow talaga yung stratotele dun, angas ng tone! di ko mabitaw bitawan eh :-D nandun din yung PRS na semi hollow at yung kay fraudulentzodiac na gitara. :-D papacustom wound ako ng pickup dun next time! :-D

since last week, yun pa rin yung number na gamit nila. although he mentioned that they might not accommodate incoming projects/repairs as they have their hands full for the past few months, pagbalik ko dun balitaan ko kayo kung tatanggap na ulit sila.

Pacita Complex I, you can take the Shuttle service at Festival mall, then get a trike at the terminal and tell the driver the address. By car medyo complicated kasi maraming liko. :lol:

ganda ng neck joint nyan! they built it in such a way that you can tighten the neck bolts waay past a normal guitar neck can handle. i saw their bolt-on design and it's pretty effective! musta sustain nyan Rap? :mrgreen:

Well, unlike the Gibson ES 335 which has arched maple laminates for the back and top and a solid maple center block, I carved a solid mahogany block for the main body shape. The top and back were carved from pieces from solid plain maple pieces. The neck is mahogany with rosewood fretboard glued to the body at a 4 degree angle.

met the man today, he and his son brought 3guitars, his first ever complete build a PRS style hollowbody with a very interesting neck... wide and thin , 45mm at the nut 12inch radius medium frets, I really fell in love with that one...Arcee pickups are simply great.. I did bring my own virtual amps for reference and it sounded so good, played like dream...I've not seen that one on any pics before so it was a real pleasant surprise ..if for sale ..I'would have bought it :)
the Metal riffer God guitar was a real gem in craftsmanship made by Raph his son ..sandwiched JAP fruit wood between Ash front and back...also played like a dream and sounded awesome with Raph made pickups... yea he make some wicked sounding pickups that man..even if very hot still had lot of transparence and tone
TeleStrat was also a gem with Ash body, wonderful craftsmanship, sounded better than any Strat I played....
conclusion: these guys earned my deepest respect today...( they are good guitarplayers also :) ) everything they do is Top quality... pickups sound better than anything I have tried before....
so the project is ON... xited... mahogany body with Ash top ala the LesPaul they built....but in the shape of a Ibanez JS ... bolt on maple neck with rosewood fretbord...medium jumbos, Raph pickups instead of DiMarzio's Fred and PAF Pro... so im still on StewMac.com making a parts list 12:52 am :)
did I mention that they are supernice also.... :)

Galing ako sakanila kanina, pinatest nila sakin yung Strat and yung TeleStrat hybrid nila (Ash Body). Grabe wala akong masabi, sobrang ganda ng pagkawa ng pickups nila and until now di ko parin malimutan yung tunog ng gitarang yun :) Babalik ako ulit next time para magpagawa sakanila ng pickups na kagaya non :)

What can I say? Well, first and foremost it all started with a desire to have a go-to tele guitar that pretty much could handle different tones from jazz clean to rock grit. I talked to sir Ruel last February 2014 and the two options I had in mind were: (1) simple neck heel contour (similar to a Fender deluxe) or (2) Stephen's extended cutaway. With sir Ruel being able to make the latter for a couple of bucks more, I chose it simply to have a more useful access to higher frets. Not to mention the uniqueness that it makes to the overall appearance of the guitar. I then ordered the parts via Pedallion Gears and Nellden Music (thanks guys for doing business with you!) and started the project a few weeks later. Every once in a month I made sure to visit sir Ruel and his son, Ralph, to see if every detail was met. The cool thing about them is that they show you how they do the actual thickness planing of the slabs, routing of the neck, mating the neck and body, drilling holes, etc. So for straight 7 months I also took photos of the progress of the guitar just to have a little documentation for myself and voila! :-D
It was definitely worth the wait and the investment knowing that my expectations were exceeded with a fast neck, easy access to higher frets, smooth gloss finish, and superb tone! I must say those Wilde pups really creates a magical acoustic sound plugged and unplugged. Definitely a keeper! Very nice and fine craftsmanship! I'm definitely looking forward to more projects with them if time and pocket allow me to. Thanks Arcee Guitars for a nicely done guitar! More power to you!

hi arcee customers, may tanong lang po ako regarding their custom wound pickups. I currently have two "dead" Gibson dirty finger humbuckers from my '80s flying V. I'm planning to fully restore the guitar as close as possible to the original specs. so i'm planning to have these "dead" dirty fingers fixed or rewounded.
My questions are: 1.) can they use the same old pickups and keep the parts that are still usable? I'd like to retain the original bobbins (naturally aged and yellow na sila eh), polepiece screws (if ok pa sila despite the rust)& metal baseplate 2.) can they wind it according to my preferred specs? for example, i'd like to use alnico 5 pickups instead of the stock ceramics
yun lang po for now. I hope the guys at arcee guitars see this

the guitar sounds sweet bro! pero tingin ko kung itabi mo yung amp sayo, mas maririnig yung tunog nung guitar kasi, the mic of the cam seems to be placed behind the amp or under it kaya mejo bass-y yung sound, pero judging from what I hear, it sounds wonderful man! congrats! great build sir arcee!
my strat was also modified by arcee hahahaha best sounding strat ever #biased HAHAHA
