the bigge the cymbal, the lower the pitch.

the bigger the cymbal, the lower the pitch.
and the louder potential volume.

the bigger it gets also affects the price,it gets more expensive

aside from diameter, the thickness and weight also contribute to the kind of sound...kung same diameter, mas malakas ang tunog pag mas makapal/mabigat vs manipis/magaan...may side question din ako na related... di ko masyado napapag aralan - what makes a cymbal bright or dark sounding?

Hammering! yata. Not sure, pero the more you hammer, generally mas nagiging dark sounding sya, or at the very least more complex.
-
haha! bro sonic! mas mahal pag mas malaki talaga di ba? hahaha
hammering makes the cymbal makes the cymbal darker and it depends on how you hammer it.
it maybe complex as well or dry
thickness makes the cymbal pingy and harder do open up.
thin cymbals tend to respond more.

kaya nga gusto ko ng junior size kit para mas mura ang cymbals sa bahay
ang lathing ba may effect sa brightness? Alam ko pag mas lathed mas wet, lalo na kung lathed up to the point of thinness

Haha junior kit! :-D
Usually bright cymbals are brighter in sound.
Yung mga satin or traditional finish e yun yung in the middle or dark cymbals, pero it depends pa din.haha
Your correct in the lathing aspect

-
yup, bigger sizes means more volume and sustain. smaller sizes mas short ang sustain. nag vary din ang sound depende sa thickness ng cymbal.

Pag mas maliit ang size bright tunog... habang lumalaki nagiging dark.
Pagpareho naman size halimbawa Zild 18 A Custom Medium Crash at Zild 18" A Custom Projection Crash, mas bright yung sa mediun crash kasi makapal yung cymbal yung projection crash, bright pa rin pero mas dark kasi medium thin cymbal yun mas manipis.
Saka oo mas mahal ang price pag malalaking cymbal. Haha!!! Saka mabigat yun pag dalhin sa gig... Hehe... :p
