master jp.. :-D thanks for the tip, but taking into consideration that I would not have any problem with replacement skins for the 8"  :? would you still pick the 10"?

Sound-wise and appearance-wise, a 10" tom would blend in better with your existing set of toms.

10" is nice...
8" is cute...
6" ?!?! i hope so...

10 (-2 whole steps-) 12 13 16 - good mix if that 13 was a 14.. better...

Since you have 12, 13 and 16 toms I would also recommend a 10".  An 8" is nice but its pitch is too high from your next tom which is a 12".  If your smallest tom is a 10", an 8" tom would be appropriate.

why better? :?

Personally I prefer the 13's for 2 reasons..I like the tone being close to the 12 and find it odd enough to be distinguishable; and 2..it saves me money when I buy pre-packs  :-D

So I guess if they were together it would be better? :?

I am just worried because I play with my ride on the right mount of the base drum (in between the left rack tom and the floor) so if I add 2 more toms on the left side I'm worried my hi-hat would be too far away  :| unless I do it like Neil Peart style where the toms are progressively going higher towards the left (which I doubt I could play comfortably :|)

more inputs please.. :-D

well the reason y 14 would be better than the 13 is because....

10 and 12 has a  2 inch difference... meaning it has a wider tone difference....

lets say you tune the 10" at A and the 12" at C and the 13" would be D.. but if that was 14, that would be E

2 whole steps apart from each tom... you can distinguish tom pitches and tones more effectively...

and also the 16" floor is 2 inches bigger than the 14"

pero kung may makukuha kang 11" na tom.. e di ayus... hehe... 11" 12" 13" 16" :D

A 10" tom is so practical. If you get the 8" youre gonna have problems regarding the drumhead (like jp said) and you would want to replace it w/ a 1o

get both! hehehe i got the same setup as you, 12,13,16 toms, 2 days ago bumili ako ng concert toms ng fernando, 8 & 10 inch, nilagyan ko ng pinstripes and suprisingly maganda tunog nya even without the reso side, pero gs2 ko cya maging tom talaga kaya papalagyan ko pa kay master peeves ng reso, all in all about 7.5k lahat toms with stand, pinstripes, 8 &10inch hoops and lugs :D baka gusto mo lang i try
matututo kaya ako magdrums? kelan kaya iyon...

thanks for the tip bro..

my worry lang if I get both 8" 10" tom is my hi-hat position might be too far from my snare since I set up my kit with the ride on the right side of the left tom mounted on the bass drum.. :? So it would turn out na 3 toms on top kaya baka malayo na masyado yun snare..what you think..?

ok yan fernando ah..mura plus with the pinstrip set up  :-D but I have my eye on a pair of export expansion toms

yun din una kong concern di ko malaman pano ko ippuwesto yung 8 at ung 10... kung yung 10 lang ok lang eh pero both 10 and 8 mejo lalayo yung hi-hat ko, kaya nag compromise ako sa ride,

ganto cya before the toms:

ganto na cya ngayon:

all fernando hehehe, cant afford ako sa ngayon ng mga high end eh...

OT: peeves kelan natin lalagyan ng reso tong mga toms hehehe

ako rin gusto ko malapit yung ride, parang pareho kami ni g0d5_g1ft pero nasa right side parin ng bass drum yung ride, napush backward/leftward yung hihat, tapos nagaral ako ng open hand playing. kaya yun ok na hehehe di namahihirapan unlike cross stick playing.
