Now, kung may splash ka or china splash, try this!

i guess this is what bro Gep is reffering to. it's called Drumbal... artists like Johnny Rabb and Benny Greb often use this techniques/effects.
watch your problem? ;p

i stacked a 14/13 inch regal crash to a 16 inch planet z crash, just for experiment, nagulat ako, ayos ang tunog. it sounded like MP's cymbal stack effect like in his video ...10 degrees of turbulent drumming. cheap! :-D

What I see is maaga syang magkakaroon ng warping. Hope it works out and looking forward na makita ko to sa Classifieds  :-D

Not really, since a matter of preference naman to.

Gud luck meyng!

anong sound ba yung habol mo bro? kasi I've tried stacking sabian ozones before, hindi ganun kaganda yung kinalabasan (IMO).. here's the thing, since mala Zildjian EFX style yung preferred cut mo sa crash, then most likely it would have the same intended response when hit freely. now, if you put the EFX style splash on top, it would be something like MP's stacks or any cymbal stack combination for that matter, which has a quick and tight response then right? now since ozones, efx, grilles etc. are made to sound thrashy when hit freely, they wouldn't sound as much at all when stacked. IMO bawas pa nga yung tunog since yung contact points bawas din due to the cutouts. BUT, there are certain cymbal effect stacks that i've seen and tried wherein ozones (or the like for that matter) are stacked with regular hole-free pies, but then again that's a whole different concept.. just trying to give you an idea bro! good luck to your cymbal project!

Thanks sa mga comments :D

Ang habol ko po na sound ay something fast and thrashy - that will compliment my 16" hhx evo crash. Gospel kasi tugtugan, so napaicp ako i need a fast crash to compliment the solid sound nung hhx crash.

Staggs are known to be thrashy, so I thought, "fast and thrashy" is the sound I needed. :D

My first plan was to rehammer it, pero they were brittle sabi po ni sir dabomb kaya change ng plan

maganda kung sabian o-zone style yung sa crash then zildjian efx style yung sa splash; it's beyond the superficial "just for the look" reasons actually. given yung inherent sound and size nung crash, IMO mas achieve yung preferred sound decay if o-zone style na paikot at uniform ang butas ang gagawin. sa splash mo naman, size really matters pagdating sa modification. IMO, it would be best to do the semi efx style (3 slots like what you had illustrated before sa crash, without the additional holes gaya ng actual zildjian efx style) and not the design that aligns with the actual lathing, as dreddurius mentioned baka magka-issues agad yung cymbals mo (sayang yan!)

BTW, I'd go with piggyback vs stacked for this project. good luck!

ok na yung design mo sa splash. yung sa crash though mas maganda sana kung 6 holes paikot sa bow para uniform yung sound distribution, thus achieving your preferred sound. just shell out a li'l more dough though, trust me it'd be worth it! :-D
