Is the Canon Power Shot S3-IS a good one
« Reply #101 on: February 23, 2007, 11:16:10 PM »

I saw the Canon S3-IS and got interested with the feature of having a seperate button for still and video.  is it a good buy for P27K or are there better alternatives?

Check out the Fujifilm S6500 (24,995) or S9600 (29,995). Both have Video capabilities too...

In my experience, colors and skintones taken using Fujifilm cameras are reproduced more accurately and sometimes even richer than its Nikon or Canon counterparts.

The Nikon D40... It's really aimed at DSLR newbies. It even has a tutorial mode in the menu that teaches you the basics of using DSLRs... around 33-5k at Columbia Digital stores... 28k At Quiapo...

d50-down >>entry level (beginners)
d70-up >> enthusiasts to semi-pro
d200 - up >> semi-pro to pro
d2x - up >> pro

don't be fooled, may nabasa ako na mas ok daw d40 kaysa d50 though di ko pa nattry.. pero d40 ang suggestion na second camera for d70/d80 users.. ang limitations nga lang (as lectured to me by dre) yung lens kit at AF mode..

what about the lense kit and AF mode??? nagtanong ako dito sa macao and its 5000MOP(currency dito bale times 6.5) and they said its NIKON D40 Kit. When you say kit ba, it includes what??? I dont know much bout the terminologies eh.

The D40 kit (with lens) comes with a Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II lens. Ok na itong lens for General Photography. If you want more information, go to Ken Rockwell's site... Then start saving up for the 18-200mm VR... hehehe
