What Type of Cymbals Should I Use?
« on: October 30, 2009, 09:56:50 PM »
I play mostly pop rock, rock like paramore and foo fighters but i also try to cover songs from pinoy artists like bamboo and urbandub

Anong cymbals kaya yung pinaka suitable sakin? Eto yung mga current ko:

HH 21 Raw Bell Dry Ride -- very versatile pero naghahanap ako ng mas crashable na ride. mahilig ako mag crash riding eh pero nandun parin yung ping at yung bell dapat nag cucut parin through the music.
HHX 18" Studio Crash -- very good sounding but too dark for my taste
B8 14" Hats -- :|
B8 16" Crash -- :|

+10000 sa HH/HHX.. ok na ung ride mo, pero if ever you might want to try HHX RBDR.. ok ung HHX evolution for crashes & HH for chinese cymbals.. for splashes try HHX Legacy or Paragon. ok din ang HHX Evolution Hats.. my 2 cents..

kung foo fighters type of rock, the kc dark series might not be appropriate. the kc medium ride would be a good choice. Depende din kung anong tunog gusto mo. Cymbal models don't mean much these days. Yung ibang jazz cymbals tulad ng Ks / K Customs, pati yung sabian counterpart HH at hhx ginagamit na din sa rock. some are even being advertised as rock cymbals. Pero mostly dark at dry yung mga to. at the other end of the spectrum are A customs and AAXs. Bright naman at glassy yung tunog. Kung medyo hindi ka makadecide between dark / bright, go with A Series Zildjians or Sabian AAs. mis 2 centavos mi amigo :-)

Crashable ride? That's gotta be the Sabian HHX 20" evolution ride bro. Yan gamit nung drummer ng good charlotte nung gig nila sa london. Swabe sa ride, swabe sa crash.

I suggest bro just continue on with those great cymbal lines you currently have!!!

the HH and HHX lines are very great!

I personaly like the the HHX Groove hats gives you that sexy sound!  :-o

the evo chinese are quite good better take an eye on it  8-)

oh if ever di mo parin ma notice marami samin na gagandahan sa HHX Evo crashes!

just check sabian.com for sound samples kaso siyempre iba parin ang actual unit na nasa harapan mo  :-)
