I used to have an analog Bucket Brigade delay.

Couldnt stand the noise. Of course my experience is limited by that singular example, but IMHO if you go analog with your delay, better get a noise gate ready at the end of your signal path.

BAMF

Sir Bamf, I have an arion sad-1, bucket brigade din to diba? hmmm.. wala naman akong ingay na naexperience using it.. sa ibang units siguro..

OT:

-may mod ka ba to make a digital delay sound like an analog pero switchable? I mean you can still produce both analog and digital sounds on it with a switch?

Neither is better than the other:

Digital for pristine repeats, longer delay times (usually more than 2 seconds), tap tempo, and sometimes even short loops.

Analog for warmer repeats, natural sounding echoes, with shorter delay times (usually up to 500ms)
Music is perpetual, and only the hearing is intermittent.

Yes. Preference!

i havent tried a full-on analog pero based dun sa clips na narinig ko na, darker nga yung repeats.

pero i prefer digital delays, even the cheap ones, hitik sa feature. longer delay times, clearer repeats, tap tempo capabilities. sarap ding pang-techno :D

Meaning other types of effects?

I think some digital delays(with their 'analog voicing') can really stand up to or even beat the 'real' analog ones. Sa slapback lang ako 'di kuntento. And I haven't seen anything that can stand up to a big box dmm for that sound (as of now). That said, I'd go for a digital delay.

when i want to give my lines a bit of "body", i kick in my Rebote 2.5 delay (digital processing using the PT2399 chip; sounds "analog-ish" due to dirty repeats).

when i want repeats as more of an effect, definitely digital delays.

I'm a bit confuse

or laymans term na ngayon ang analog basta nasa stomp box, and digi pag nasa multifx.

OTOH may debate pa rin how BBD delays should be treated. let's wait for the experts to chime in.

Like an echoplex?

Mas 'Tape Delay' ang tawag diyan. Yung may bbd, like Carbon Copy, Memory Lane, etc are the ones usually called 'Analog Delay'. That's how most people refer to them at least.

all your post are true and correct. kaya don't tell or say maga stomp box today ay analog. Kung talagang purist ka. humanap ka ng analog module and equipment.
... well it goes with the same in dirt pedals...
