DRUM DUEL
AN OPEN CALL TO ALL AMATEUR DRUMMERS!

HOW TO ENTER
*Send a  5 -10 minutes demo video in CD format (MPEG, AVI or Quick Time file), with your  Name, Address, Birthdate, Email Address & Contact Nos.
*Email demo video at marketing@dutdutan.com.ph or drop it at any Tribal Boutique.
*Deadline for submission of entries is on September 15, 2013.
*Competition proper will be held at DUTDUTAN on September 28, 2013 at the World Trade Center, Metro Manila.
*NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

PRIZES
Qualifiers: P2,000 worth of Tribal Gear merchandise
Finals:
1st place winner: P25,000 cash, P10,000 worth of Tribal Gear Gift Certificates  and 1 JB Music drum set
2nd place winner: P15,000 cash and P10,000 worth of Tribal Gear Gift Certificates

JUDGING CRITERIA
Overall performance(20%) + Originality(20%) + Technique 20% ) + Style( 20%) + Stage presence  (20%)

THE PROCESS
*    Stage 1: Preliminaries:
    o    All demo videos  will be screened  and  eight (8 ) contestants will  be  chosen  to  participate  in  the
Elimination Round.
    o    The 8  qualifiers will  be  announced  at  dutdutan.com.ph  and will be  notified  by  phone call  and
registered mail from an authorized Dutdutan representative.
    o    In the event that a qualifier declines the invitation, or for some reason, will not be able to compete at the designated time and place, then the contestant who received the next highest score will be invited to participate.
*    Stage 2: Elimination
    o    Each contestant will be given three (3) minutes to display his/ her skills in the competition proper which will be held on September 28, 2013.
    o   Each contestant is required to get a bassist who will perform with him/ her during this stage in the competition. This is to showcase each contestant's creativity and composition ability. Bassist must bring his/her own bass guitar.
    o    Four (4) contestants with the highest scores will advance to the Semi-Finals.
*    Stage 3: Semi-finals:
    o    Again to play solo, each contestant will be given three (3) minutes to display his/ her skills.
    o    Only two contestants (the highest and second highest scorers) from the semi-finals will advance to the Final Competition.
*    Stage 4: Final Competition
    o    Each contestant will have four (4) minutes to display his/ her skills.
•   The contestant with the highest Final Score will be declared the Drum Duel Grand Winner, and shall have the opportunity to jam with our special  guest  bassist  and  guitarist, to  be  announced  at  the  final competition night.

*    SNARE DRUM, DRUM STICKS, BASS PEDAL and DRUM THRONE are the only personal pieces of gear that the contestants may use during their
performance.
*    All contestants must be at the venue at least an hour prior to the start of competition. Time of competition shall be determined and disseminated
together with the preliminary notification and shall be binding. Any contestant who is not present at the designated time and place will be disqualified and will not be eligible to compete.
*    In case of a tie, an additional round of competition (tie breaker), in which all tied contestants will have three (3) additional minutes to further
demonstrate their skills. The contestant with the highest Final Score in any Tie Breaker will be declared the winner.
*    In case, a finalist or runner-up declines or is not  able  to  compete  in  the
succeeding rounds for some reason, then the contestant who received the next highest score will be given the opportunity to compete.
•   Last year's contestants are still qualified to join except for the Grand Winner

ELIGIBILITY
*    Employees of Core Lifestyle Clothing, Inc., and affiliated companies, parents, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents, and advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate families, are not eligible to participate in this Contest.
*    You must be a qualified amateur to participate. A "Qualified Amateur" is defined as one who is not a party to any endorsement contract. For purposes of clarity, the term "professional musician" does not include teaching music or giving music lessons.
*    Prior to participation in the competition, all interested individuals will be asked to fill out a registration form at the Preliminary stage. In the event that a discrepancy is found in a Contestant's registration form that conflicts with the competition's rules, said contestant will be disqualified from the competition.
