my friends and i learned a lot about tuning dun sa pearl website. try nyo rin dun, matuto talaga kayo. =) yun "tuning in opposites", took me at least an hour para mawala yung metal na tunog, actually, ndi naman siya completely natanggal, pag pinakinggan mo lang ng SUPER mabuti, dun mo maririnig, ngaun talagang rinig na rinig na yng crack sound. hehe

Both Remo and Evans are good.  But I prefer Evans more than Remo.  For me, Evans have better quality, and their clear G1 and G2 heads for toms sounds fuller and rounder than its Remo counterparts.

Evans' website --->  http://www.evansdrumheads.com/

They have this drumhead sound chart, so that you can select the models of head that are right for the specific sound that you're looking for.

Tnx!

OO pla

I already bought EVANS EC2 for the batter and still LAZER clear for the reso

Evans is better than Remo... but i need to get G1's for my reso on the TOMS

I also bought GENERA dry for the snare ( with ports )

TAMA nga KAU!! evans is better than REMO.. for toms.. but i still miss the resonance of the coated ambassador on the snare...  sayang...

Kaso yun nga, may kamahalan.

I have evans.. man, ang sagwa ng coating ng G1 /w reverse dot! Terrible.

Remo is cheaper here but that doesn't mean its the lesser of the two.  I bought evans G2 kasi walang Remo emperor dito.

Try them both. Siguro ngayon remo, 1-2yrs from now pag wasak na heads mo, evans naman. Both are great heads kuno.. masama lang experience ko sa evans coating.

-Batter at resonant
-Price
-setting (tension)
-sound
-mufflers?

sakin all stocks
setting:

you could go with the conventional remo batter & resonant sets pero for my opinion, i'd go with evans. mas full para sa akin ang tunog nya if toned right compared to remo. i dunno, i may have a hearing problem...

just an advice...

for reso, you can use the stock heads... pag magsstay ka sa stock heads pati sa batter, a muffling would do and proper tuning to bring you near branded heads quality sound.. you can also create a poor man's "Remo Controlled Sound" type of thing on a stock snare batter head..

cheers!!!
