The best RJ guitars will most likely be on the same level as so-so to average MIK guitars.

It's dependot...  Kung maganda sa pandinig mo, ayus na ayus!  Pero pag dinalasan mo ang tambay dito, papanget ang tunog nyan unti-unti...   :)

May mga decent guitars sila pero id rather save more or spend sa other brand. Mag Ibanez Gio na lang ako.

Let us just say I had an RJ 7 and upgraded the pups to Dimarzios before. Sagwa for me. More to that I never heard a single positive comment on the sound as it still sucked. I bought the budget Ibanez RG7321 after and upgraded the same pair of pups. Ang ganda ng tunog. Thereon I solidified the importance of flowing my money to the right direction and in saving for something better within my the potential budget na I would have.

Pero in the end bro nasa sa iyo yan kung ano ang gusto mo at asa budget. I heard some RJ guitars that sounded good pero I wouldn't put effort on finding the "right" RJ for me.

Just get a guitar you can truly identify with and be happy with it. No need for people's approval. :)

The RJ Jagmaster was good. I didn't like the Mustang and Jet King copies. I mostly hate their necks. The Telecaster was okay but the cheap screws on the hardware stripped out real quick. Didn't like the neck either but the pickups were workable. Their Strat copies were nice to look at (the orange and the green ones with the tinted neck) but closer inspection makes me think it's better to get a VM Squier at that price point.

That's the long and short of it for me.

Let's not get there. Unless RJ decides to drastically improve its guitar production and quality control processes, RJ guitars will always be on the entry-level side of the industry and will only be purchased by consumers because of their very low price. Quality always has an equivalent value.

Lets all say na depende sa preference or taste nyo yan. It happen na may 20+ year old RJ Strat ung frend ko, i think he bought that in early 90's and its has nice solid body as well as neck (dont know what wood used) stock pickups and in heavily relic condition due to deep dings & paint chips. but when i used that guitar sa isang gig e i was blown away sa sound na na-pproduce nya. very twangy, nkpa-smooth & warm ng sound nya even in heavy distortions. and he said to me na mgganda tlga ung mga first production ng RJ Guitars. so i think depende tlga sa preference mo. :)

local + mass produced + entry level build quality + entry level electronics and hardware. all of these are part of the equation kung bakit panget tumunog ang mga RJ guitar ngayon.

so tama nga si oas na tone is in the gear?

kinda hard to compare RJ vs. Suhr/GY.

Agree, depende sa taste yan, depende sa pandinig.

May mga iilan na alam ang good tone, may iilan naman na hindi, regardless of gear price.
