so what exactly is the Fender warranty policy here in the Philippines?

If you buy a floor unit and it's screwed, it's your fault. (And by the way, the floor unit IS the ONLY unit available.)

If you buy it and don't like it, it's your fault!

If you buy it and realize that the price was too high, it's your fault!

In addition, since you brought in an EJ model and a Hot Rod vintage model, can you bring in at least 10 of each so we can pick out the good sounding ones and send back the bad sounding ones?  Its better for us to be able to see and test from a batch.

lufet... :-)

Nosebleed ako dito.

Correct.  For example, EJs now in the states can be had for around US$1,400-1,700 while the converted price of P120,000 at current exchange rate might be closer to US$2,800.  Clearly, taxes, VAT12% and air freight do not add up to this margin.  At US$2,800, we Filipinos should get Custom Shop level... Hindi pa nga iyun masterbuil

If Fender did say that it was the top 1% sounding EJ they had then I would consider the price but given that it really was only above average, the price is just too much.  For info, for maybe an additional US$500, I could get a Strat style Baker which is entirely hand made by Gene with select woods and a lifetime warranty who was by the way a Masterbuilder at Fender.

I do want to suggest to Yamaha/Perfect Pitch to actually sell their Fenders at U.S. Street Prices plus maybe the US$300 air freight.  They would move more USA guitars.  As dealers, they should get good discounts versus SRP.   In fact, if someone would bring in Suhrs and price it at current Yamaha prices, I am sure it would sink the local Fender sales.

The perfect pitch people need to get their head out of the sand -- YOU ONLY SELL MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AT LIST PRICE IF THEY ARE BOUTIQUE LEVEL.  I think another store with the same strategy is PJC.  THEY ARE STUCK TO LIST PRICE SO MUCH THAT THEIR PRICING IS COMPARABLE TO USA BOUTIQUE.

asa pa kayo. 3rd world tayo, shempre last priority tayo. and frankly speaking, fender wont give a rats ass kahit mag rally tayo at magboycott ng fender. barya lang ung kinikita nila satin kung tutuusin.

isa pa, wag nyong asahang bababa ung presyo ng yupanco than what they are willing to sell their guitars for. fender distributor sila. i think consignment yan pero they still shoulder the shipping and taxes. so kung di man nila mabenta ung guitara at a certain price, hangang sa maluma, magssale sila ng onte and make you feel like your getting it at a bargain. but not to malign them. business is business. they sell. you buy, if you want. demand? we cannot demand because there is not demand here in the philippines. period.

pabili nlang kayo sakin. pabalik balik ako ng singapore :) hehehehe

Agree.  Kaya nga 3-4 years na ang showmaster na Custom Shop sa Buendia na panis na panis na.  Thats my point, if its cheaper for you to take a trip to Singapore and get to choose among so many available models and stock in another ASEAN country, mr. Product Manager should wake up to the realities because he will eventually lose his job if he does not meat the quota.  After all, can his boss wait for him to sell an EJ strat after 4 or 5 years?  By that time, or in the next few months, naka labas na ang rosewood model na EJ strat...

Actually, it feels that Yamaha will have to wait for a massive Peso depreciation to sell their USA stock like maybe when the Peso hits 70 to the dollar. heh heh.  Pati nga iyung bagong amp nilang Prosonic yata iyun with cabinet, makakabili ka na rin ng talagang magandang boutique amp sa USA.

Brod, manufacturers do NOT consign to their distributors, at least not in this business. Everything Fender you see at Yupangco is already sold to them.

WHAT?!?  $2800 for an EJ?  Absurd.  Completely absurd.

Parang Australia.  The $699 Strat in the US sells for ~$1400.  The SRV sells for ~$2500.  At least hindi lang pala sa Pinas baliw ang presyo.

is this true?

i think it will be much better if consignment na lang ang nangyari in terms of the price of the products.  if the goods are consigned, the consignor (fender) can dictate the price of the products.  since they will shoulder all the incidental costs of bringing these products here.

kasi pag sold na, it's yupangco's property already.  so they can dictate whatever price they want.

At the current level of pricing USA made Fenders by Yamaha... Yes.  Mas malaki pa ang selection sa Tom Lee Main sa Tsim Shat Tsui with better chance of getting a good sounding Fender.
