thanks guys for all of your suggestion, i decided to not go to L categories and save up a little bit to get a external flash.. But i narrow my choices to canon 100m macro lens or sigma 50mm 1.4 . both lens have superb reviews and photos in the internet so help me decide guys, which of the two is bang for the buck? and wont regret it?
If you want to upgrade lenses, dont go for 3rd party lenses. The Canon 100mm f/2.8 is a good lens so is the Canon 50mm f/1.4. Both are good for low light situations like concerts, indoors. With the Sigma, you'll have barrel distortion, chromatic aberrations, and vignetting.
Recommending the following lenses as upgrade:
17-55mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8 L, 24-105mm f/4 L - for general walk-around all purpose uses
10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 for landscapes, tight places, family gatherings
100mm f/2.8 macro for portraits, low light conditions, and macro
50mm f/1.4 portraits, low light conditions
70-200 f/4 for portraits, sniping, photowalks
But you have to decide what fields you want to concentrate or focus on.
You'll never go wrong with Canon lenses on your Canon camera.
