di totoo paps. pero may design flaw ang Montero. wel not really flaw. iba lang siya sa nakasanayan ng mga driver.
yung gas pedal ng Montero mag kasing height nung brake pedal. (as compared sa ibang kotse na ang gas pedal eh mas mababa kesa sa brake).  dagdag pa dito, pwede ka magshift from park to drive sa Montero without stepping on the brake (automatic transmission; usually sa AT dapat step on brakes muna bago ka makapagswitch to drive. sa Montero, pwede mong ikambyo without stepping on the brakes)

so sa isang old school driver na hindi alam tong mga lacking safety features na ito, he might've stepped on the GAS pedal thinking it was the brake pedal, making the car rev up, and then switched to Drive hence the sudden jerk or acceleration. it checks out kasi with the description of the drivers na "biktima" ng "SUA" eh. (e.g. bumibirit daw yung kotse kahit naka tapak ka na ng sagad sa "brakes". ibig sabihin GAS yung naisasagad niyang pedal kaya bumibirit.)

exactly what i was thinking when i sat inside a montero and tried stepping on the pedals.

and part of the reason why i made 'bulyaw' on the wife who wanted a matic car "para daw di na sya nag iisip sa pagda-drive"

thats right. we have 2 vios and 1 montero, all matic, aside from the design flaw na pantay yung break and gas pedal e yung sa gear selector ng monty is almost straight yung P R N D not unless baba ka sa + -. kaya pag baguhan nag ddrive, kakabahan na sa pag apak, iaakyat pa agad ang gear kaya reverse and punta.

off lang talaga siguro na mag ka level ang gas and break pedal. kasi for other cars I drove, nakalubog si gas, i dont know kung ganun pa rin sa newer models ng montero.

yup. i think mitsubishi will make it a point to revert and follow the current setup of pedals of most cars kesa ipagpilitan nila ito and cause more harm sa mga nakakalimot at ipipilit na mali ng auto nila yung nangyari.

but ergonomics wise, madali nga naman mag pivot pivot na lang ang kanan paa between the gas and brake pedals kesa iangat mo pa kung galing sa  gas at pe-preno ka. yun nga lang, di ma-grasp ng mga andito yun.
