i think this a more rock themed & noiser album since "The Colour & The Shape" album.. i liked it..
Pat Smear is also back in this album.. 3 guitars.. more melodies & harmonies \m/

Yeah, I've read an article about this new album, kasama si Krist Novoselic sa isang track ng album, it pays homage to nirvana according to Dave.
They also used conventional recording as per Dave, as they have to set aside using ProTools and use reel tape for this, which is the "real" recording stuff... oldschool!

Sounds like Dave got a lot of stuff from touring with Them Crooked Vultures. Only a few songs sounded like Foo Fighters songs (the single does). Lots of it are Josh Homme, even the vocal melodies and harmonies. That, or Butch Vig is taking a cue from the stoners.

All of the songs, as Dave Grohl states: "There's poetry in being the band that can sell out Wembley but also makes a record in a garage."

the album felt a lot like the first foo fighters album to me, only the songs were a little more symphonic and arena rock in nature. i enjoyed the album more than echoes, silence, patience and grace, thats for sure.

I encourage everyone to watch the Foo Fighters documentary titled "Back and Forth". Andun lahat ng istorya ng albums nila. Wasting Light was recorded in Dave's garage via an old school Tape Reel. It's also nice to see them play altogether in 5-piece

in that studio scene sa documentary, with Vig, Smear, Novoselic and Grohl in the control room at the same time... Watch the reaction of the assistant engineer... hehehe... i understand his giddyness...
