Any thoughts? I'll be trading my Fender Blacktop Jazzmaster (made in japan) to a PRS SE 245 Tobacco sunburst single cut with classic bird inlays.

I'd keep the jazzmaster. Besides...you're asking for an opinion on a fender thread.  :-D

should be fine, build wise, Im thinking yould be getting the same satisfaction naman..since PRS SE's are built well..for me nasa naiimagine mo nalang na image mo onstage..
the coolness of slinging an offset..or the technical, lick lovin dude on a PRS..

I say wala naman talo gitara wise..kung sawa ka na sa offset..trade lang ng trade..dali na naman ngayon makahanap ng offsets..sakali na trip mo uli bumali sa P.O.G.I. club..

if its gonna get you excited to try new stuff..go for it!

Beginning 2015 with a new guitar!  Santa arrived late, but he seemed kind enough to hand over a Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster my way.

I realized with that model that I enjoy playing on a 7.25" radius neck.  It's a different experience from playing on 9.5" radius necks that were on my other Fender/Squier models.

The bound and block inlays are also really nice changes to what I'm used to with dot fingerboard inlays.

Next thing to do is outfit that guitar with a sweet set of D'Addario EXL115s.

Offline hahaha!

Hi Guys

Help me identify this guitar.
It's a fender strat made in japan with Schaller Floyd Rose 21 Frets.

Guitar was made at the
Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan
in the Year(s): 1987 - 1988

The heel has ST 362F Tag and Neck pocket has 362FH tag

Maraming salamat po.
Nag try ako mag search around the web tungkol dito kaso walang concrete answers akong nakuha.
Merong '62ri w/ floyd, Hot Rod reissue, Import Standard Stratocaster at kung anu ano pa.

based on the info from the net, it's a Fender MIJ built close to 62 specs. The last character indicates some more info like:

V - Vintage
FH - Floyd style bridge with Humbuckers
F - Neck for Floyd equipped body (see the locking nut?)
L - Lefty
doh!!!

I already seen those info. somewhere..
searching for the exact model of this guitar is really a hell of pain.

Sana may maka tulong, para ma tahimik na ko.
Minsan iniisip ko nga na baka '62ri tlga to because based on my research, fender japan has a lot of undocumented models or rather some of the models' info are not available in the web.
Maybe during that time, fender is trying to provide the needs of heavy metal in guitar industry para maka sabay sa ibanez and etc or maybe I'm wrong. This could be just a prototype model.
May nabasa din ako dati na sabi Custom shop prototype daw or test model na sinubukan nila kung magiging mabenta sa market.

Fender experts... I really need your help

May nakita din po akong ganitong guitar sa google image, some are SSS, HSS but never seen HSH.

usually those hot rodded guitars are routed HSH..you can look if the solder joints are untouched to see if the pickups have been changed

it's not a "62RI" per se. i mentioned before that Fender Japan doesn't really produce re-issues but only constructs guitars closely based on specific models (ST-62, ST-57). it's not a prototype model. it's just the way they label their guitars and most likely, that is a Japan domestic model which is only for sale in Japan during that time.
doh!!!
