The Almighty Pearl JOEY JORDISON Signature Snare Drum Thread

i just bought mine last week at megamall. satisfied user ako. hindilang yung looks niya ang maganda pati yung tunog. pero kailangan ko muna patayin ng konti yung overtone niya. i got the idea from franklin ksi meron din siya. ginamitan din daw kasi niya ng double adhesive tape kanti kalikot ok na! :wink:

So mga kapatid na gusto magkaroon at meron na nito....share your comments,stories etc. LONG LIVE JJ SNARE! ang snare na  :evil:  at USO!!!!

If i'm not mistaken eh 14,700 reg price plus 20% discoun so bale 11,760. Pero to be sure call your JB Music retailers for the pricing.

hahahaha uy sir nung last na nag inquire ako dun may naka reserve sa name na sandy, kala ko ikaw yun bro. kaya kinausap ko na si sir dennis of jb megamall para magpahanap. musta yung sayo? nakuha mo na? ang price niya is 12,400 ata if im not mistaken hindi na 11,600. anyway ako din gusto ko maki uso.....hehehe pero nung narinig ko yung snare iba tlaga eh! :wink:

Oo akin yun! Hehehe might be mistaken sa price baka 10-15% ang discounted price. Sorry for misleading. heheheh

I'm so tempted to buy one right now.  The Jordison drum has been on my wish list ever since it came out and I first heard it and tried it.  I can buy one right now, pero next year na siguro.  I need to focus on my priorities first. Because I'm planning to buy a kit soon hehe!

I like the Jordison drum because its sound is so crisp and I favor its power piccolo size.  This is something that I think I can use for our outdoor or big-venue gigs.  And I don't have a metal drum.  All my snare drums are wood-shelled.  I've been wanting a nice metal snare drum, and I would love to include this in my snare drum arsenal.  And it looks great too.

mismo Sir Drumster! sige sir kung ano yung priority mo for now oks lang yun. pero balitaan mo kami pag bumili ka na.pareho tayo, ito rin ang first metal drum ko... 8-)

after reading all your posts naiiyak nako :cry: nakakaasar dapat kc hindi nlng guitar hiningi ko kay erpats nung birthday ko last september...tsk, 20k din un... badtrip hindi ko tuloy alam kung saan kukuha ng pera pangGAS sa JJsig snare... :-( sana lang maawa sila sa ken sa christmas hehehe :-) anyway sana sale pa din sya kapag may pera nako... :-D

Haha!  I happened to drop by at JB Megamall yesterday & saw bro Sandy pick up his new Jordison drum.  Antayin namin ang personal review mo about this drum.  Congrats bro!  Magkakaron din ako nyan balang araw.  :-D

ill also have that snare, hopefully before the year ends or early part of next year. I was able to try one and so far, its very flexible on the music that it can play. Sarap!!! hay sana umabot ang 13th month hahaha...

Just passed through JB Megamall earlier and they still have a Sale but the problem is, the JJ Snare is not 11k anymore, its around 12,495. Why when I have the money its not enough again hehehe... til January 15, 2008 ang SALE... Sana umabot hehehe...

d ko pa makuha ung tunog na gusto ko. parang dapat d ko na ginilaw maganda na tunog nung una hehe. tips naman sa tuning ng jordison. sir sandy sir dindin hehe. bro cavs pano ba gwing ganung tunog parang sa ep nyo?ganun na ganun ung gusto ko e hehe salamat

Joey Jordison Owners let me have you attention.

I did a Tuning/tension study so please take note.

Game!!!

Considerations:
1. I installed a slightly used REMO USA Coated Ambs.
2. Bottom head is Fairly tight.
3. Snare wires is medium tight so it will not choke the drum.
4. 14 in Snare will sound VERy different from 13 in Snare okay? 14 is generally open sounding and 13 inches is kinda "compressed" meaning the tone is more focused.

Tension Glosarry

Super tight (95% tighened)- Sound is quick and lots of high mids. You'll literally cover your ears. The sound will work well for RNB guys here. But it has repercussions, the body of the sound is so thin. Meaning the roundness of sound is almost wala na. So bale the 6.5in deep only contributes to the volume na lang not the body. The sound is good for secondary snare.

Fairly Tight (90% tightened)- Sound is almost the same with the Super tight tension but with added body. You'll noticed the change. Good for today's POP music. The the favorite sound of Franklin and Jeff lima (i guess so).

Medium Tight (85% Tightened)- My favorite sound! Balanced High Mids and body. It's like a quick sound piccolo sound with body and depth! Basta it's the sound for me! Highly recommended!

Medium Tension (70-75% Tightened)- Okay ren sakin to. Imagine the sound of a 14x6.5 steel snare but in a more focused tone. Sound is compressed compared to a more open 14 inches snares. I really like the body with a bit of ring. Good for POP and ballads.

Fairly loose (70 below tension)- Buzzy and Ringy. Who likes that sound anyway?

You guys should experiment kasi ibaina tayu nang taste. Pero one thing i appreciate with this Snare. It has alot of dynamics on it. Kala ko maganda lang sound nya pag Super tight like what others say.
