Hello, Im Bea. Im a 19 year old jazz enthusiast and bassist who enjoys jamming with her computer (lonely). hehe!

Sorry, posting here because most of my friends in medicine cant relate. hahaha!! Scared but super excited as well!!!

Need tips po for someone like me who has zero experience playing jazz live. Thanks!

I don't know if this applies to you. In my case, I can see clearly for things close by but have a hard time focusing on stuff some distance away. What I do is when I play in public I take my contacts (then) / glasses (now) off so I practically can't make out the faces of the people in the audience. Yeah, it's weird....I myself found it a bit goofy the first time I tried it ages ago, but I've gotten used to it and it definitely helps calm me down. Hope this helps - assuming pareho sira natin

Haha nice tip but my vision is okay.... quite good actually, 20-20 according to my last physical exam. hahaha! Interesting story though. :p My main issue is stage fright and the paranoia of screwing up.

I don't really see a lot of female who's into jazz. Wooow! First "BIG" gig?

This..is..really..good.. It'd really be nice if I could go to such event. Kulang pa kasi ako ng listening materials for me to go deeper into jazz.

Thanks guys! I enjoyed a LOT

And i was told i did good despite uhm... things.

Weirdly enough, i screwed up at that one song that i played really well at the rehearsals. It was the one i am most comfortable with and therefore LEAST expected to screw up. It was the "safest" in my set. hahaha!!! Why? I reflected about my life while playing (i was really happy, okay.) then before i knew it, im already a bar late. Out of panic, tried to habol i think i did UNTIL i forgot to repeat. Oh and i also missed the cue for the solo. hahaha!!! Oh God. hahaha! I didnt stop though. I just played notes that i know is pasok naman. but yeah, chord changes not emphasized. Hahaha!!!

I know Tots personally, he is one of the best educators here in our country (not to mention one of the best saxophone players). You're definitely learning from the best, so keep it up.

BTW, on that particular video you posted, he's using a curved soprano sax.
