It's the closest I got to seeing Hayley and Paramore onstage last Saturday. I should've worked on my camera settings, but this shot was one of the more decent ones in the bunch. Bitin lang yung set nila. They only played for half an hour.
Qwest Field parking lot in Seattle. The local radio station had a talent showcase called Endfest and also featured Social Distortion and Smashing Pumpkins to name a few. May information booth kami sa trabaho tas nag-volunteer ako kaya nakapasok ako ng libre. I only really wanted to see them and Against Me! perform.

hm... alam kong poser si Avril (di nagsusulat ng kanta niya, di nagsskate, di marunong maggitara [dati] etc). saka gusto ko rin naman Paramore eh. me dalawang album nga nila ako. pero matagal na kasi pinagsamahan namin ni Avril. Ewan ko ba, guilty pleasure kumbaga, pero di naman ako nahihiya hehe. Gusto ko lang talaga mga kanta "niya". Hehe. Saka ewan ko, siyempre mas hot siya para sakin hehe. :-) dati kasi Michelle Branch ako tapos Avril far second, eh nung naglie-low siya (nag-asawa kasi eh! :-( ) kay Avril napunta ang atensyon ko. I guess siya nga ang pinaka-portal ko sa pop hehe. catchy naman mga kanta niya ah. saka yun, sa mga album niya, nakita ko evolution niya mula punk-pop poseur papunta sa popstar image na niya ngayon. at least nawala na yung fake angst sa image niya hehe. :mrgreen:

I really have my suspicions whenever someone claims they're rockers and they've got backup dancers during their performances.

onga medyo nakakalungkot na fact nga yon.
one of my all time favorite songs kasi yung All We Know. From the first album ng paramore. in fact, isa sila sa mga paborito kong bands. pero nung lumabas ang second album, okey parin naman, enjoy parin mag soundtrip. pero ambilis ko na magsawa. baka nga mapunta na c hayley sa landas na tinahak ni avril.
mas napunta sa pop-side ung 2nd album eh. pero paramore parin. andun parin ung power ng music, ng lyrics chka ng vocals ni hayley.
pero mukang matagal pa maabot ni hayley ang pagiging girlfriend ni avril. kasi c hayley at ang kabuuan ng paramore, halata naman ang pagiging musikero sa tugtugan nila eh. hindi katulad ni avril. parang puro pretentions lang eh.
mukang carrots ung mic ni hayley noh?

IMO, hayley is far more better than avril. boses pa lang ulam na... :-P nothing against avril... actually, i have to admit na mei mga songs ni avril na gusto ko talaga.

But I like the hiphop side of Gwen. It's something na masasabi mong "uy, inventive, original.." Something that a pop song should be.. Kanya-kanyang trip naman yan e. A bassist from a metal band sidelining as a guitarist for a funk band or a hiphop band. Mga ganun.
With Avril Lavigne, day one palang.. Alam mo nang pegged to sell, nuts music, totally horrendous. But come on, at least she has that pompom wiggling song "Girlfriend" mala Toni Basil that stucks in your head forever... haha.. Thanks to the uhm...PRODUCERS. That's a nice pop song, IMHO. :evil:
With that girl from Paramore, Ok lang parang ung ibang banda jan... But nothing really praise worthy.

From what i've noticed (sensya na tamad ako magresearch if it's true) Avril's first band is really her band, pero syempre their name have to be appealing. Correct me if i'm wrong here kasi na-experience rin namin sa banda namin yang ganyan. A Producer wants my wife to be a solo act pero kami pa rin rhythm section nya. Packaged sya na ang Pangalan ng banda si her name. Pero i'm proud of my wife na mas gusto nya na pangalan na lang ng band namin kesa solo nya. Kaya eto andito pa rin kami. Hahaha....

i recently started listening to Avril's three albums: Let Go, Under My Skin, and the recent The Best Damn Thing.
all i can say is: POP defines her music. there are some tracks like In My World and Too Much to Ask (from Let Go) that is more than good enough to listen to; as well as Keep Holding On (from The Best Damn Thing) which is as powerful as a socially important song can get.
in other words, she's the Britney Spears of Rock. LOL
on the other hand, Paramore leans more on the creative and technical side; still POP and mainstream, mind you, but the focus is not entirely on the vocalist, unlike the former. and probably as the result of their influences, they still incorporate heavy guitars and drums that no doubt labels them as ROCK.
you can't say who's generally better than the other because they're both different. however, you can compare them perhaps in a smaller scale and a specific criteria.

you're too defensive man, what's wrong with giving a few comments? even if you created this specific thread, it's in an online forum, and i'll presume you know the meaning behind the concept of forums, but for the benefit of those otherwise, it's ideally a community meant for the sharing of people's ideas.
and you can't expect people to just say only this or only that b/c we don't live in a monochrome world. there will always be something in between.
take a chill pill pare. i don't know where the hostility came from but if it continues it's bound to ruin this thread.

Nope i'm not mad totally, I'm great as a matter of fact, i'm just pissed off of those people who just post para kontrahin ang mga ibang tao. Mga talangka nga eh. Continously bashing the threads just for fun. I know it's their ideas, naasar na kasi ako sa mga comments na "they can't be compared, magkaiba sila ng genre and style" thing. Duh! Eh kung sino nga mas gusto nila sa 2 regardless of genre and style. Meron at merong mas higit sa gusto nilang 2. There can never be a deadlock with comparison.

Not making a comparison and say na magkaiba ang mundo nila. Mas gusto ko nga yung ayaw nila sila 2 tapos may reason kesa sasabihin na gusto nila sila 2 pero tabla. Kaya kung napapansin niyo, wala ang choice na "I like them both" Kasi gusto ko makita difference nila. Yun lang po. Bow.

dude i don't bash your threads. if anything, i try to make sense of them in the proper context. IMHO, if may poll ka, dapat may definite kang pinagbabasihan, otherwise, inconclusive ang labas ng poll mo.
since you said this thread is just about who you prefer, period, and wala lang who you prefer lang talaga regardless of parameters or criteria :
i prefer avril 'cos she's hotter. hahaha. parang "little-slut-girl-trying-to-be-sexy" kind of appeal.
hayley makes better music though.
