Streaming Jazz Radio stations

Ok ok, we all know there is NO decent jazz radio station in Manila. No big loss actually, in the car, we can listen to mp3 players or mp3s on CD-Rs, or CD audio. And at home, I've been listening to streaming jazz stations, mainly for variety, and to find out "what's new". For jazz newbies,I recommend listening to internet jazz stations to get a flavor of the wide spectrum of jazz.

My current favorite station is http://www.jazz24.org - a 24hr non profit jazz station also known as 88.5FM KPLU in Seattle. Good mix of classic straightahead and modern jazz mixed with NPR news reports. And its low bandwidth too - I listen to the 20kbps Windows Media Player feed, which doesn't interrupt my usual surfing activities, and sounds great all the same. (this would be accessible even on dialup connections)

Listening right now there's a stretch of songs from Rickie Lee Jones, Diana Krall, Jaime Collum, Charlie Parker, Gary Burton, and John Coltrane.

hi guys!! how can you say what kind jazz is decent? i'm an avid listener of jazz-fusion music like gambale, chick corea etc.. and sometimes i do get across stations like 106.7 and 92.3.. My question is, what "specific" kind of jazz music i need to listen.. can you list down some artist please....

i'm into JAZZ this time, i mean im digging to play and study that music to incorporate in my playing.. I play instrumental guitar rock music (satch etc) but i will take a step ahead to learn it...

Ngayon lang ako nagttyaga matuto ng jazz madalas kasi nasisindak na ako eh umpisa palang niyahahahah! 8)

pop-jazz... which is not really jazz (not even close)...FM stations here locally dont play the real thing (miles, coltrane, evans etc...)

internet radio is the way to go if you want to hear the true jazz artists :)
Notes are clever ways of getting from one silence to another
