Dark music that are NOT metal
« on: May 30, 2013, 01:00:57 AM »
Tired of listening to metal lately but still thirsty of the darkness/occult/etc feel of it. So I found myself listening to other genres that provide the creepy vibe, some of them are actually Darker than Heavy Metal.

Share any dark tunes in your playlist here. Any genre will do as long as it's not Heavy.  :)

Mine:

Comus (a Folk band from Sweden that was active in the 70's)

King Crimson (One of the First Progressive Rock bands, you probably know them already)

Múm (Electronic)

Popol Vuh (A german band responsible of composing Movie soundtracks in the 70's, the best example is Nosferatu)

Storm Corrosion (Side project of Opeth's Vocalist)

Some Locals:

Bob Aves (A Virtuoso Jazz/Rock Guitarist, every pinoy musician must know him)

Pinikpikan (these guys are crazy as fvck)

It's heavy metal fatigue.                                                                                                      Postlude.

Found this on soundcloud, they play Country
Sons of Perdition

Ulver, they were a black metal band from norway. This is a track from their Electronic/Ambient "phase."

Allan Holdsworth, those weird chords and fluid soloing is what brings the darkness

naalala ko bigla..

Yung kantang "Gloomy Sunday". It was very infamous lalo na nung panahon ng World Wars.
"suicide song" kung tawagin nila to dahil madalas eto yung music associated with suicide cases sa Europe. Austrian ata yung original version nito and was translated to different languages na.

It ain't metal. It ain't a noisy song. It's a slow ballad but its a f*cking cold intense dark song.
Till now di ko pa ulit pinakikinggan to.
