May I introduce my made in China, certified for real Gibson Baldwin Signature Series Les Paul:

Price of the guitar: $114.99 on ebay.

Shipping: $70 or $80, don't really remember.

Customs:  php1,283.50

So, basically total value of the guitar is a little more than $200.00.  Out of the box it is one sad puppy.  It's a bolt on, the neck was wobbly, there was no setup at all, the strings were the worse I've ever seen, fret wires hung over the edge of the binding so that you could cut your fingers nicely while playing but the tone was actually pretty good.

So, I set out to fix this friggin thing.  I put grover tuners and a graphite nut on it, spent a couple of hours filing and sanding fretwires, put a good coat of lemon oil on the neck, tightened everything up, put a good set of strings on it (diadarrio 10's), adjusted the pups and the improvement is pretty doggone incredible.

Now, it looks, plays and sounds like a Les Paul is supposed to look, sound and play like.

Regards,

No, it's much lighter.  I guess the biggest downside for knowing this guitar will last a lot of years (even though there is a lifetime warranty) and sustain is that it is made of plywood.  So it is much lighter.  It's a bit thinner than a regular Les Paul also.

However sustain hasn't been a problem since I adjusted the pickups.

They are being sold at Best Buy stores, along with the acoustic, SG and Les Paul Jr. signature models.
