@lolwat,

Haha kung maglandian

Paps, since you have a separate compressor pedal, just dial it in for a nice open compression with a warm EQ setting para bawasan yung "glassiness" ng strat. Tapos in your MS70CDR look for the "Plate" reverb sim, and try these settings out:
*PreD - 20
*Decay - 25
*Mix - 75
*Color - 100
*LoDMP - 100
*HiDMP - 65
*Tail - probably not important, but set to ON just in case
*Level - 100

Tunog multi-tracked yung original recording paps - may naririnig akong dry guitar sa ilalim ng chorused guitar sound. Kung kayang habulin sa tone knob, try mo isama yung chorus mo in between the comp and reverb. Happy tone hunting! :D

For MS50G/MS100BT/MS70CDR/G1(x)on users: here are some patches that I have come up with testing them side-by-side with analog pedals. For the most part they sound pretty good and useable. I used a G1on for all of these, but I believe that most, if not all of these can be used on the rest of the pedals in the list above.

Noise Gate - ZNR:
   THRSH – 12
   DETCT - GtrIn
   Level - 100
Description: Working like a virtual ISP Decimator G String, this noise gate senses the signal straight from the guitar input (an alternative setting allows sensing the signal from the previous effect in one's chain). Where the pedal is placed in the signal chain determines which effects are gated when the guitar is not being played. NOTE: Placing this right after a distortion pedal or amp sim is recommended.

Distortion - ExtremeDS:
   Gain – 35
   Tone – 15
   Level – 150
Description: A high-gain distortion sound meant to be plugged straight into an amp's input, it has a very cocked-wah sound that might not sound good on its own but will most probably cut through the band in live situations. NOTE: this has not been tested on an actual amp yet, but has been compared side-by-side with an analog distortion pedal (MI Audio Tube Zone V4) during the setup process. Combines favorably with the noise gate.

MXR Phase 90-style Phaser:
   Rate – 12
   Color – 4 STG
   Level – 100
Description: Classic slow phasing that works well before distortion pedals or distorted amplifiers, but may also be used for post-gain modulation. NOTE: I do not own a physical MXR Phase 90, but based the settings on Van Halen recordings and online video demo reviews of the pedal.

Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer-style OptComp:
   Drive – 10
   Tone – 42
   Level – 30
Description: A vintage-style compressor with a relatively aggressive compression. Warm yet clear. NOTE: Settings based on a DIY Orange Squeezer built with original parts.

AutoWah:
   Sense – 8
   Reso – 4
   Level – 150
Description: Envelope filter which responds to hard playing with a sliding midrange hump, producing a quacky "wah" sound. NOTE: Best put at the very beginning of one's signal chain. Not based on any particular pedal. Some further adjustments on the Sense control may be needed to achieve an ideal response based on the output of one's guitar's pickups.

Delay:
   Time – Quarter note x 2
   F.B – 15
   Mix – 41
   HiDMP – 10
   P-P – P-P
   Level – 100
   Tail – ON
NOTE: Sample delay setting only.

TC Electronic The Dreamscape CHO1 ("clean chorus")-style CoronaTri:
   SPEED – 35
   DEPTH – 81
   FxLVL – 100
   TONE – 100
   DRY – ON
Description: Based on the John Petrucci signature TC Electronics modulation pedal's first Chorus mode, this produces a chorus with excellent shimmer and stereo imaging. Best placed after dirt pedals/amp sims for stereo effect.

TC Electronic The Dreamscape CHO2 ("crunch chorus")-style CoronaTri:
   SPEED – 40
   DEPTH – 50
   FxLVL – 60
   TONE - 100
   DRY - ON
Description: Based on the John Petrucci signature TC Electronics modulation pedal's second Chorus mode, this produces a relatively shallow chorus used for doubling and thickening one's distorted guitar tone. Best used after a distortion pedal/distorted amplifier.

TC Electronic The Dreamscape FLA1 ("clean flanger")-style Flanger:
   Depth – 66
   Rate – 41
   Reso – 2
   PreD – 0
   Mix – 65
   Level – 100
Description: Based on the John Petrucci signature TC Electronics modulation pedal's first flanger mode, this produces a flanging effect which works well with clean passages. May be used pre- or post-gain. NOTE: The simulation and the Dreamscape's rates are slightly different due to limitations regarding the corresponding controls.

TC Electronic The Dreamscape FLA2 ("EVH117 emulation")-style Flanger:
   Depth – 50
   Rate – 29
   Reso – 7
   PreD – 1
   Mix – 40
   Level – 100
Description: Description: Based on the John Petrucci signature TC Electronics modulation pedal's second flanger mode, this is a flanging sound meant to be placed right before a distortion pedal or distorted amplifier. When operated this way, harmonically-rich flanging sounds reminiscent of Van Halen's "Unchained" can be produced. NOTE: The actual Dreamscape pedal version of FLA2 removes the dry guitar signal entirely, leaving one with a warm, swirling flange tone that may be too dull-sounding to be used by itself.

Thanks a lot for this brother

Good Day!

Tanong lang guys kung may naka-experience ng pag-power ON ng Zoom G2.1Nu stuck yung display led nya sa startup.
I haven't used it for a while then when I tried to turn it on ganun ang nangyari, tried to reset it, nag-reset pero ganun parin.

If may nakaexperience na nito maayos/naayos pa ba?
Thanks!

Try upgrading firmware or reinstalling firmWare, di ako sure pero baka gumana.

may sinok din ba yung g5 pag nagswitch ka from manual mode to patch mode? planning to upgrade from g3 to g5
Instead of searching for what to buy next, why not search for what to learn next?

Hi, I'm planning to buy a Zoom Multistomp pedal. I'm thinking about having this kind of patch:

EQ -- another EQ -- Analog Delay -- Room Reverb

Kaya po ba ng DSP ng Multistomps yung ganyang setup? Thanks.

by the way, meron ba ditong gumagamit ng G2.1NU sa live settings?  I think I need some help  on how to improve my sound on stage. this is my current dilemma:

- my first gig, naka PA ang venue, I love my sound. naka DZ Drive - Stack  amp/simulation ako.
- 2nd gig, no PA, direct to marshall amp. I tried to switch of the amp simulation, sounds like [gooey brown stuff]. so binuksan ko ulit yung amp simulation but nagrereklamo yung drummer namin na masyadong sharp yung sound ko. my option is to change the eq but there is no global eq, ang choice ko lang is to modify the patches one by one. then nanghiram ako ng separate 6-band eq and I placed it after zoom then go to amp, nawala yung sharpness (lahat nung nasa 1khz and above, naka attenuate lahat). I was able to get an acceptable sound.
- 3rd gig, I tried playing without amp simulation, very [gooey brown stuff] yung kinalabasan.
- 4th gig, I bought a 10 band eq, attenuated lahat except yung 500Hz, medyo matalas ang kinalabasan after ng gig.

whenever I play using my headphones, ang ganda ng tunog. sa studio practice, I have ample time to adjust. problem is pag sumasalang kasi kami sa live, iba yung amps na ginagamit, most of the time I make my adjustments while performing. bago ko minsan makuha yung gusto ko tunog is sa mga next 2 to 3 songs.

I hope someone can give me suggestions to improve my sound: here is my setup (and yung pagkakasunod sunod ng connection)

- guitar w/ dimarzio dactivator 7 brigdge (most of the time bridge ang gamit ko)
- zoom g2.1nu  (I use DZ drive most of the time tapos yung gain ko is around 60% to 75%). no compressor, no delays, echo. Noise gate is always on. Eq is off sa lahat ng patches.
- 10 band eq.  (any suggestion on an all around setting or minimal setting pag sumasalang sa stage?)

my settings sa amp is   (0 - lowest, 5 middle, 10- highest)     bass - 3    mids - 5   treble - 0

we play heavy metal. I tried, using MS drive at 100% gain, rinig na rinig sa mix yung gitara ko, ang problem lang is pag naka palm mute, walang bigat unlike pag naka DZ drive.

hope to hear some suggestions... :)

pag naka connect ako sa PA i use amp model, pag sa guitar amp naman yong stomp drive models gamit ko walang amp modeling. i use zoom g3. naka save na yong mga patches ko for both scenario. try mo connect ang ipod sa marshall amp and sa PA/headphone, diba mas maganda ang clarity sa PA/headphone, parang ganyan din ang amp modeling.

sir, kung yung G2.1 mo is parang G3, dapat ibahin mo yung signal output niya, most probably naka "direct" yung output level niya kaya ganun yung tunog pag amp. if im not mistaken, meron yang option to convert to "front of amp" or "direct power amp" (effects loop). try mo yun sir. no problems kasi ako sa G3 ko.

Mahirap umasa sa multifx for high gain metal stuff, dapat direct to PA or FX loop para ma-maximize ang amp-sim or else crappy ang tone pag sa front ng amp ni-direct like what you've experienced. What I can suggest is to have a separate pedal for your high gain which can handle the job better.
