Recommended first cheap electric guitar?
« on: May 31, 2010, 07:07:07 PM »
I've been wandering the guitar central forums for quite some time now. So far ito magiging first post ko.

I've been playing acoustic guitar as a hobby for 4 years now mula nung 4th yr HS. I'm an intermediate guitar player, knowing a bit of scales, doing some solos here and there.
Recently I thought of buying an electric guitar to broaden my horizons, sa acoustic guitar ko kasi ngayon limited lang ang pagplay ko, like hindi ako makatugtog ng mabibilis na licks na naiisip ko dahil stiff masyado, at limited ung range dahil hanggang 19 frets lang.

My father and I went to the pier last saturday, at hindi na pala yun katulad ng naririnig ko dati na madaming 2nd hand guitar na maayos pa. Two shops na lang nandun, so we went to raon to find some cheap guitars.

So what do you guys recommend? May nakita akong Strat knock-offs na 3.5k. Tapos meron din namang mga 5k LP itsura na ala floyd rose ung trems, not sure about sa quality dahil baguhan ako sa anything electric guitar.

My budget is 6k. What store do you recommend at anung guitar?

I prefer playing a bit of rock, and some blues. Most of all, what should I look for when buying my first electric guitar? Gusto ng father ko strat na itsura. I want something that looks like a LP pero I think I'd go for the strat look na lang din. Ano ba ang tinitignan dun?

Sorry sa madaming questions, also not sure kung sa tamang section ko napost ito. I hope you guys could enlighten me a bit.

Thanks a lot! :3

hope this will help!!

My suggestion is a second hand Squier or Strat copy... decent build and easily upgradable. You can just replace some parts for better playability in the future when you're better.

Thanks sa mga replies.

so either a strat copy or a 2nd hand squier.

Tanks a lot guys, naeenlighten ako with your help.

Not sure pero sabi ni pops sa raon na lang daw muna bilhin ung first axe, para at least daw pwede mareklamo kung sakaling may factory defects. Ung iba kasing nagbebeta mga classifieds eh hindi nila napapansin na may defects or ung quite a few eh scammer naman, not saying all pero a very few.

Sa amp naman, hindi kasali yun sa 6k. Meron na kasing nakita. Although I'll probably be playing it more with a PC/laptop gear emulation software. Wala pa kasing pera pambili ng pedals. It's a decent temporary fix for getting effects. Heck it even works great on my acoustic.

I mean anung wood usually ung maganda, at anong wood ung usual na nasa cheap elec guitars?

Kung karamihan ng Fernando ay hindi okay I guess i'll steer clear from them, pero what should i expect, eh cheap guitars lang nmn cla :P

Thanks

By the Way, Magaganda rin Reviews ng mga ka-philmusic forum natin sa Fernando Guitars, Read at this Thread:

Hope This Helps

Greg Bennetts' of Lazer are good sounding guitars. :-)

Fernando and Greb Bennett's guitars are pretty good for beginners.

If you have a friend who has a lot of knowledge in electric guitars, it would be nice if you could bring him/her along when you buy your guitar.  :-D
