I'm no shredder. No plans to be one. Parang masyado nang kupas para sakin ang shredding, kahit yung mga sobrang bilis..

Content na ako sa simple riffs..

I agree with TS. Nu Metal, Alternative Metal, Post Grunge at Post Hardcore ang mga sinasabayan ko, eh wala naman masyado shredding solos mostly sa ganitong genre. I just enjoy the tone of chug chug and crang crang. But im not closing my door to shredding though.

I knew it, kaya siguro hinde ako makabili ng shredhead....

is this the non-shredders club? how do i sign up?
i think one factor why i the "shred bug" didn't bite me is that i was exposed to clapton and the beatles at an early age. and loved how they do solos. although i do listen to some metal stuff with a lot of shreds ans sweeps. pero hanggang LISTEN LANG ako. not PLAY. hahaha.

minsan tala mga ibang chugchugan wala ding solos at all..pero pag pinapakinggan parang gusto mo pulutin yung gitara mo tas sabayan mo din..then headbang..

wow.. we share the same feeling TS. Im into soulful Blues/Jazz licks... kasi dun mas feel na feel ko yung emotion ng pag-gigitara. pero natutuwa ako pag nakakarinig ako ng taong sobrang linis mag shed... kasi yung mga nakikita ko minsan parang ang sloppy nila pag nag shred, either dedma or naiirita ako.

More on to melodies, blues and funk kasi ako kaya di ako shredder. Pero gusto ko din matuto ng mabibilis na licks para naman magkaron ng parang "climax" yung solo.

I play anything from Tom Jones to Metallica. And I don't shred. I don't think you need sweep arpeggios and string skipping and exotic scales to play "Delilah" or "I Want To Hold Your Hand" or "Rise" or "Pride And Joy".

I started playing pop, classic rock and blues which requires a very firm grip in the neck and heavy hand. Shred requires fleet fingered players. Mabigat kamay ko, so even if I try to learn how to shred, mediyo may kahirapan.

i cant shred, im in.
hirap ako dun, mas trip ko melodic lines(syempre hirap sa fast licks eh!)
random notes and improvisation lang lagi pag nahawakan ang gitara.
