it looks natural to me.

i've held 2 overly used but not abused orig 60s and 70s strats...and comparing this white one...I'd say it looks close.

how about a "before" pic?

Nice job.  How'd he do the cracking thing?  I read somewhere that one "home technique" was to put the body in the freezer overnight, and then expose it to a heater.  I'm sure though that Arie took a more scientific approach...  :-D

Alternating heat and cold application. Some get great results using simple everyday appliances like a hair drier and a can of compressed air (the one you use to blow away keyboard dust).

I heard you can get the cracking paint look by using a can of freon, or any other refrigerant, then imediately using a heat gun/blow drier...i wouldnt want to try it though...

so, to whom does this relic'd guitar belong to? will this thing ever get to see the gigging circuit or is it going to get stuck in a bedroom somewhere?

IMHO, the cracks in the paint doesn't look natural but it still looks good  :-)

Hmmm... The cracks don't look natural? I'm not so sure about this. Have you actually personally examined authentic vintage Strats with natural paint cracks and checking? If not, then I guess you'll have a harder time distinguishing natural-looking cracks from ones that were obviously artifically made :)
