manufacturers should provide sound clips
« on: May 09, 2009, 07:53:49 AM »

actually all the major cymbal manufacturers have audio samples. kung wala sa site nila, meron sa ibang reseller.. sa drums, I'm pretty sure mapex has samples on their site -- kits and snares..

good point bro about the heads. pero pwede rin naman sila magset ng isang standard drumset tapos dun nila ilagay lahat ng heads habang sinasample. that way may point of comparison pa rin.

astig ng mapex. sarap ulit ulitin iplay ng samples. hahaha!

re: head manufacturers providing sound clips

this is actually a very good idea. when drummers (and musicians) start out, it's not like they know what the terms actually mean and sound like. this also would help buyers in choosing what they want and in turn avoid flooding forums with questions regarding which heads to use, etc.

but maybe one reason they haven't done this is because it would be impractical, considering the bandwidth audio requires and the profit they make per head sold, and the additional personnel and time to make audio clips. (imagine a company tuning all their heads to a 14x5.5 wood snare, 14x5.5 metal snare, 12" tom, 16" floor tome, 20" bass drum)
maybe the cost-revenue tradeoff just isn't worth it, unless they price their heads higher.

sa cymbals ayos lang kasi all it gives is an idea of why model A is different from model B. starting point lang, kumbaga. kaso sa drums tsaka heads, there are too many variables that it wouldn't really be of much help. better just go to your friendly neighborhood music store and try them out for yourself.
