zildjian pitch black & paiste alpha black? any good?
« on: February 28, 2009, 10:19:55 PM »
im planning to spend a portion of my savings this summer to buy a new set of cymbals... so money is no prob... dilema is, which set to buy.

zildjian K series = good sound... looks great for the first few months... until
shiny finish tarnishes... after that mukha nang cheap, (would
still sound good though). pero wala na ung pogi points...

Zildjian/paiste black edition = doesn't sound as good, but might look cool to
babes (big deal ofcourse)... they don't tarnish...
im not sure if the paint chips off after a
                                          while though...

help me decide guys,
(pitch black + girls + zero maintenance) or (K series + good sound + no chicks)

big dilema noh? im actually leaning towards the pitch black after considering the very very low maintenace needed... the sound isn't that bad, really, ung ride nga ang ganda ng tunog... and the price... kayang kaya ng credit card... hehe.

He he he hassle nga maging vain na drummer. Kung hindi prob ang funds go for the best sound bro. Anyway still your choice.

1- sound before looks, 10 times out of 10.

3- pitch black sucks horse balls. and anything with a slipknot logo isn't far behind.*

4- zildjian's paint chips off. paiste's (which isn't really paint) doesn't.

* - apologies to the JJ snare loyalists. the snare's okay, but the fact that it has the logo sucks.

get a paiste 2002, alpha or sig. They're so shiny you can see your reflection, they're explosive with shimmering decay and pretty low maintenance. here's a pic of my paiste crash when it was 8months old and have never been cleaned before. Imo 10/10 sound, durability and looks

bumili ka nlng ng mga a custom or z custom or k custom or mga 2002 series ng paiste or alpha rakrakan.

at least hindi Pitch Black. but still.

note on Paiste: after a while, they do get dirty. and once they do, they're nastier than Sabians/Zildjians. I should know, I have a 10 year old Alpha China that's been filthy for 9 of those years, and it just gets worse. so hindi sila exactly "no maintenance". lalo na yung may colorsound coating... kailangan mo pa rin punas-punasan.

go for other stuff...id say A customs or Avedis..punasan mo lang once in awhile, kahit di mo na ispray.

BUT if i were you, check out the cymbals in the classifieds ng drums...for sure you will get a better deal than buying brand new Pitch Black or the Paiste black cymbals....

yun lang :)

last time i checked girls ddnt know anything about cymbals.

girls never liked me even if i posted all my hi-end gear... i had more luck brnging them to dinner dates in a car *lol*

i know you were just kidding with your post...

K series all the way ... those pitch black things dont compare to them.

or better yet... get those B8 pros, and use the extra money to bring girls to expensive dinner dates. its hard to mess that one up *lol*

go with the K's bro, smartest way to go if you say that money isn't a problem...

or go with the A customs or Avedis...madaming pagpipilian....

and before buying, test every cymbal out kung yun yung prefered mong sound...malay mo iba iba palang brands, series etc ang hinahanap mong combintaion...

And in my opinion drums and chicks don't mix...all for the love for drums and music pare... :-)

Kung babae lang habol mo, bumili ka ng copy ng dalawang libro ni Neil Strauss: The Game at saka Rules of the Game. P500 lang each pero lifetime investment na yun!

Besides, you should play for the music, not for the girls.
Girls are just part of the perks.

might as well start now. ano ba ang pinaka-ok na cymbal cleaner? :)

1- cymbals look more, um, distinguished when dirty.

2- cymbals sound better dirty.

3- patina smells better than cymbal cleaner.

4- (most important of all) believing that cymbals are meant to be dirty justifies one's laziness to clean cymbals.  :-D
