Update on the Zoom thread.

Just fiddled around with the drive types. This time, I used the earphone jack of my son's Fender 15G. Then went the Matchless Hot Box setting.

Damn, I had tone! This was the first time that I heard the Zoom through the earphone.

What are your thoughts on this?

Same here. The Hotbox and Fuzz Face models are my faves, especially through headphones. Now I can play "Lithium" the right way.  :-D

Or if anyone would like to part with theirs? Pero judging by the feedback, good luck na lang. Hehe.

Thanks po!

I am really a guitar into amp type person.  I rarely use effects.

I do have an Ibanez TB and that and a chorus pedal is all I plug into my Peavey Valveking.

I also have a ZOOM 606II.  It's alright but for a long time, I just used it as a tuner.  Then I got a second amp - this Peavey Blazer 158 and I decided it needed a little more balls.  So I started tweaking and patching this ZOOM 606 to go along with this peavey blazer.

I use the A series of sounds for my 62 strat with EMG Select Pickups.  These pickups are technically humbuckers, but sound more like P-90s.  Rich and full but enough cut to get through the mix.  I wanted to thicken it up, so I used a lot of the Boutique Amp modlue to get my sound along with just plain overdrive.  I'm not a distortion fan.  I like overdrive and nothing beats the sound of an overdriven tube amp in my opinion.  Surprisingly, I was able to tweak this to get some really good boutique and overdrive sounds out of this strat.  I also got some really good fender clean tones from it, even using high gain on fender clean to get that Keith Richard crunch.

B Section was used for my Fat Strat.  Everything is oriented towards overdrive and peavey amp modules there and I was able to tweak this out to get the tone I needed really well.

C Section is for my strat and teles.  Blues was what I was looking for and I tweaked a bunch of fender clean, blackface and overdrive to get some really good blues sounds.

I left the rest like the factory set it up.

Works for me really well - but I still prefer guitar into chorus box into Ibanez TB into amp.

Regards,
Be well,

Which would you recommend po? A GFX-5 or a G2.1u? Ano po ba lamang ng GFX-5 sa G2.1u and vice versa?

Am having trouble deciding on which one would be a better deal in terms of versatility ng effects.   :-D

Thanks.

go for the newer series bro...why?

1. mas matibay.
2. mas okay ang patches
3. mas mabilis at seamless na ata ang patch change
4. mas madaling ipaservice since bago pa

my set-up is:  yamaha lord player>>>>boss metalzone>>>>boss turbo overdrive>>>>>boston EQ>>>>>>ZOOM G1>>>>>amp....

I HAD A G2...had to sell it for some reason...tpos i bought G1...i thought its the same lang hindi pala...pero i kind of like the G1 since i only use it for the amp simulation and delay...and the G1 has a cabinet simulator too...combo,bright combo and stack...havent tried them on big amps yet...

my problem ryt now is that the delay options are very few...the repeats/feedback can only make 4repeats longest!...the G2 has a feedback parameter knob so its better...i now miss my zoom G2...maybe i'll just buy a delay pedal...particularly boston eng'g...

i'm trying to save money to buy a G7....para isa nlng dala pg may gigs....

medyo bago pa kasi.. havent tweaked it pa... have to set the volume levels pa hehe.. malakas kasi masyado.. even if the master volume sa unit at the minimum.. pero astig yung mga mods.. and preamp drives nya....

tip pala: hinay lang sa gain. tapos yung EQ as much as possible wag mo gawing extreme ang settings.

thanks for the tip.. yup medyo digital pag mataas ang settings.. pero nice pa din tlaga tunog ng G7.. galing ako sa 707II at GFX-1 hehe.. and yung distortions nya parang galing sa amp talaga hehe.. im going for the Hillsong guitar sound (Christian/Gospel music).. so the BG and FD preamps ayus na ayus..

mga bro's sinasamahan nyo ba ng analog pedal (DS-1,OD,etc.) as booster yung G7 nyo kung gagamitin nyo ang distortion ng G7? para kasing it can't stand alone lalo na kung nasa clean ang channel ng amp.. thanks guys..  :-)

That's what i thought before...i realized later that if you need to switch from clean to distorted sound, you would have to use the knobs...
here's my settings which might help
Cleans: Tube 1/4, Solidstate 3/4
Distorted: Tube 3/4, Solidstate 1/4

Mahirap lang when you need to switch from Clean to distorted or vice versa right away...in which case i just put both at 1 o'clock
I just hope that these settings can be save too  :-(
