drives my Numark very well. opamp OPA2134 was used here. and i'll be experimenting with OPA2132 on the next 2. the CMoy's very clean and LOUD at just 9oclock. very tight bass response and gives this virtual like 3d soundstage on my DJ cans. i havent tested it on standard earphones, i prolly wont. i ll try it on in-ears by the end of the year, if i feel like buying ERs and have earmolds (only 300 pesos for earmolds, cost alot in the states!). ive yet test it on the grado sr80 as well.
here's the bare amp (thnx sir arnold!), its actually half the size of the altoids, so im looking for a smaller enclosure. but the next 2 will definitely be housed in altoids.
getting it in the altoid tin wasn't easy...
ive to take out the input/output jacks, volume pot, and extend the battery clip. and you need lots of patience to solder, little wires to their right contacts. then you apply shrink tubes to avoid electrical tape goo. put hole on the tin using a nail and make it big with screw driver (manual).
put insulator on the inside of the tin just to make sure that solder under the pcb dont short.
always test that everything's working, you might break a wire or sumthing in the process. so always check.
i put a foam to separate the battery from the pcb, to avoid it from touching delicate caps, resistors, specially the opamp, in case the tin gets shaky...
energizer should last 3 days.. im planning to series another clip or a dc source...
i used a spare guitar dome knob for the volume pot
tested on closed dj cans.
finally.. my irezumi ipod's complete.
bliss on a DIY amp  i ll stop making when i get xin supermicro, portaphile or ray samuels. i'll jump to a hybrid tube/SS headphone amp. DIY ofcourse
message me if you wanna audition..
