For lacquered wood shells, a good furniture polish can do. There are wood drums with matte and oil-stained finishes, and I think there's a special polishing/cleaning agent for these drums with more delicate finishes. Or just to be safe, just wipe the drums periodically with a nice, clean, non-abrasive cotton cloth.
I also read and heard that polishes for other wooden musical instruments (electric guitars, for example) can work well for wood-shelled drums.
There are a number of commercially-available drum shell polishes out in the market, but I don't think there are any available locally.
