Guitar Instrumental Albums - Foreign and Local
« on: February 25, 2010, 01:57:00 AM »
List your favorite guitar instrumental albums here  8-) Any genre will do, I just need new listening materials and I know there's a lot of GOOD albums out there that im not aware of. Don't forget to put a short description or review.

Ill start:

1.Steve Vai's Passion and Warfare(Rock): His best work up to date (imho). Its artistic, groovy, heavy and technical at the same time. Some memorable melodies too! Yeah, this album is influencial to a lot of major artist.
2. Jason Becker's Perpetual Burn(Metal): Description-check out the album title!!!
3.Vinnie Moore's To the core(rock) :This album is packed with Melodic phrazing and improvisation( I rarely hear him repeat the same licks, or maybe im just deaf)Some jazzy licks here and there, artistic( you would think he can only play neo-classical shred but...just listen to this album!)he wasnt afraid to put or add some "disco" vibe on some of his songs which is i think is cool.

P.S. I still trying to find some LOCAL guitar instrumental albums, can you guys suggest me some?

lol. yeah i love those albums. I like The Extremist album a lot.

I would like to add:

Rob Balducci's The color of the light
album (rock)- Interesting melodies there, hes not "that" technical compared to most players but i just can't stop playing this album. Check it out! R U Divine and Empress are just a few of my favorite track. Hes very humble person as well.

Norman Brown's After the storm
album (smooth jazz)- His playing and melodies may sound "easy" but its not. One of the few jazz artist that i liked.

Thanks guys,keep them coming
