Hi I'm finally done with recording two songs using the Behringer U-Control instead of plugging in through the line-in of the PC sound card.

http://www.myspace.com/boomboxrecordingstudiosprojects

Slight OT: Can I ask the pro's for constructive comments po? I am just starting to learn how to put things together and still in the long long learning process.

Hi Guys!

Same ba ang price ng behringer products, XENYX powered mixers in particular, sa lahat ng outlets dito sa manila?

Good you got it figured out. Happy recording!

Instead of me locking this thread, why not share with us your review of that UCA once you discover what it can do. I'm sure people will be interested.

when you download off the site there are two setup files. What I did was installed both of them and it worked.

the only problem Im having now is having no "monitor" output during recording, but im trying to figure it out on my own as of the moment hehehe

i had the same problem..just go to option menu then monitoring, then choose either always input or smart input..im not sure what the diference is, but there seems to be none..then there!just arm a track for recording and monitor away! =D

btw, in the latence settings of the uca, if you have enough resources on your computer, theres an option on the driver settings that lets you lessen the latency, im not sure what was the lowest value but it was way below 17ms..

also, downloading and installing the driver from the behringer website is a must..improves the performace of the uca by a whole bunch..and just fixes the little problems anyone may be having

1. guitar => guitar effects loop => amplifier => UCA200 => laptop

OR

2. guitar => guitar effects loop => behringer GDI21 => UCA200 => laptop

i am planning to use adobe soundbooth.

What kind of fx loop? Does the ampli have line outputs? In both cases. you might want a stereo line output since the UCA uses stereo RCA ins. Or if mono, you usually connect to the left UCA input.

kitc:

actually ang setup ko po ganito:

guitar + cable + effects in series + cable + amplifier with 1/4" plug out

i dont plan to get a mixer, for once i am recording only one track at a time.

puede ba itong setup na to will work? and still get fairly decent results?

and one more thing. puede ba talaga sa windows 7 ang uca202? the people in intune say di raw sure.

if the amp out is stereo ok lang saksak ang uca202?

i was thinking of lexicon alpha but it goes like proprietary ang output niang audio file kasi nakatie sia sa cubase. tma ba?
i dont have the time to read all that now...

But you have the time to read through the forums?

Seriously, the Lexicon is a much better interface than the UCA, but I fear it is an old standard since it is a USB 1.1 device. Lexicon's newer I.onix U22 interface appears to be much better since this is USB 2.0 standard.

What do you mean by proprietary outputs? The included software (Cubase LE) is the one 'tied' to the hardware, I believe. Steinberg has a habit of using hardware dongles and it's possible that you can't operate Cubase LE without the Lexicon, but you can use the Lexicon with other DAW software, except for Pro Tools. If you need protools compatibility, then consider M-audio interfaces instead.

oh no. i was bent on getting the lexicon but now you said its usb 1.1... and it says here the same thing:

http://www.lexiconpro.com/static.php?id=15

the alpha is the cheapest one i found and knowing it's 1.1 frustrates me.
all desktops are moving beyond usb 2.0 in a matter of years and i dunno if there'll be issues with.

i believe you're right on the cubase. i could possibly end up using adobe soundbooth anyway.

If you use a lot of vsts, Cubase is clearly the way to go. I'm a Sonar user myself but I like how Cubase implements vst automation (we'll see how much different Sonar X1 is when I get it!).

cant make this thing work.
can anyone help me out to setup my amplitube to work with my UCA202.

im not sure if it is the MIDI settings with ASIO. tried Direct X settings but i dont hear my guitar at all. im using windows 7, adobe soundbooth for recording, and amplitube 3

here it's how its plugged: guitar => UCA202 => soundcard line-in.

If you use ASIO4ALL drivers, you can record with more than 1 UCA200 using ASIO.
