IMHO, there are so many fuzz variants that its very hard to give a roadmap.  You just have to know what "flavor" you want.

but generally, there are two ways you can go in your fuzz journey:
1. get a fuzz pedal with exotic features and all the bells and whistles (octave up, octave down, gate, compression, tone, etc...), or
2. get a simple touch sensitive fuzz wherein you can manipulate your sound though playing dynamics and volume roll-off.

personally, i'd go with #2.  what I actually consider my main fuzz is the princess rage (sean's predecessor to the chickusa). because it is touch and input sensitive, you can get many tones just but adjusting volume and playing dynamics, or perhaps boosting with an OD.

mind you, i have a fuzz that has all the bells and whistles to shape the sound via many external and internal knobs (swollen pickle mk2), and i also have a danelectro french toast (octave up) and mxt blue box clone (octave down).  but i always go back to the inexpensive pincess rage because of its simple operation and touch sensitive quality.

so i'd say its up to you, and what qualities you a looking for in a fuzz.

I just surprised nung nakita ko to sa NAMM 2013 sa YouTube, now I can't believe na napagkasya nila mga circuit ng malalaking FF sa mini size, it is now pedal board friendly at maayos na din yung pwesto ng input at output jacks and may dc input na din

have you ever seen the guts of a regular sized fuzz face? it's a small circuit board with a whole lot of air inside. i'm actually surprised ngayon lang nila naisip na gawin ang fuzz face design in a smaller casing. now, it really is a lot more pedalboard friendly.

I've always kept at least one nice fuzz pedal with me. I have a Pro Analog MKII fuzz but I just wanted to try other fuzz boxes. I like playing classic/vintage rock at home and I just joined a classic rock band, so I need a fuzz on my PT2 board permanently.

Thanks ser. I like the responsiveness, and the easy dials on this thing, cant get a bad sound out of it, used it to drive the amp, and it was really good, glad i made the right decision.
