what kind of strings do you use and why?

These......I was an Elixir user, the longevity of Elixirs are phenomenal, but the sustain is "so so", but these Pyramid strings are different, mismo yung tone, sustain is damn good1 I just wish they're durable.

i used to use ernie ball power slinky 11s but recently, i tried the ghs boomers 11s in one of my strats and wow!
binuhay niya ang strat na yun! mas malaki yung tunog. although mas matamis yung tone ng ernie ball.

i tried the ghs boomers in another strat. same result - lumaki yung tunog.

overall, mas gusto yung feel ng ernie ball. mas balanced yung feel ng gauges.
sa boomers, naliliitan ako sa A and D strings compared to the other strings. so just because of that, i might go back to ernie balls on that strat.
pero dun sa unang strat na binanggit ko, i will stay with boomers.

I bought 2 sets last month since naubos na order kong Elixirs kay Xelly. Besides, sa backup guitar ko lang naman ikakabit.

First set ... puro kalawang yung G B E strings 

So I opened the 2nd set ... kulang ng high E string    ... at kalawang din ang G B strings 

When I had a chance to visit the mall, I raised my concern to the seller (sa JB SM North) about the matter.

Sabi naman niya willing daw sila palitan. Since hindi ko naman dala yung strings and nawala ko na ang receipt, hinayaan ko na.

WIll never buy this brand again. Will stick with Xelly na lang for Elixirs.

I tried Pyramids before (gauge 10). Agree with you on the sustain part tapos sarap sa bends!!! And mas gusto ko feel nito sa fingers compared to Elixirs.

Longevity though, Elixir still wins.

BTT: i had Polyweb electrics and acoustics strung on my 2 of my Guitars. (Epiphone Riviera and Takamine EG340c)

so far, the polyweb electric's feel differs from the nanowebs. i've been a nanoweb user for the longest time. the poly's are not as smooth as the nano's. feels as if they were uncoated. and they are not too bright as well. these would be wonderful on a strat or tele I assume. hahaha

for the poly acoustics, i am just satisfied. not too much brightness that is inherent with the nanoweb acoustics.
