yes, its the dreaded 60 cycle hum.

and i admit, the hum sounded more pleasant than the shred i was doing at some places... i'm a crappy shredder. i should stick closer to the bop stuff.

nah..the hum was kindda annoying.

I was enjoying more of your blues line.

....in my book...if your gonna play blues...play blues.

...if you play shred....play shred with the proper groove....thats my opinion and taste only.

i agree with you totally phil, i was kinda aiming for a robben ford meets jeff beck thing, but somewhere along the way i tripped and kotzen and garsed made an entry, heheheh

i hope to get more recorded mileage outta the strat. plus, your mention of the 60 cycle hum got me thinking about treating it, damn, GAStos, coz onstage, the hum was a pain to control  :| worst case scenario- i'll have to order a set of bill lawrence's...

mismo, if you don't need the strat immediately better save your money for something better, say a steal Fender Jap Strat or even an American Std/Series for less than 20K? :-D

Basta ang point, save up for something better. I was tempted to settle for a Squier myself when I was looking for a strat.
Na-convince din ako na mag-ipon na lang muna, and mag-abang ng mga magandang strat sa forums. Ayun, I scored a Jap Fender for 14k.

Well thank you blues2death.  I must have missed their guitar accessories department the last time I was at their main store in Makati when I bought my GT-10.

I better call up my friend over there to inquire about it.  Why should I didn't think about that  :?.

Thanks bro

it's a Squier by Fender. 5k is not bad for starters. from there, i think you'll grow fond with the strat. at least, just in case hindi mo pala ma 'feel' ang strat, hindi mabigat sa gastos.. diba? kunin mo na yan..

hehehehe...

... will think deeply about it, should i muster up the bread i will give you first dibs.

the tokai pick ups are very very good. but considering all of the "enemies" onstage (bad electricity, flouro lights... argh!) and the gain levels i like to play at sometimes, i may have no choice but to nag becky for a set...

Tokai Pickups are very good indeed ...  Usually in a guitar, you want to upgrade, you change your pickups, right? Well, in the case of my Tokais, I've kept my Springy and my Silverstar stock... My Springysound has a U series set, the Silverstar has the stock pickups with the black base/bobbins...  I also scored a set of E series pickups, which according to the Tokai Registry are the best stock Tokai pickups that can be found, as they were made for Tokai by DiMarzio...

about pickup selection...I was eyeing on Suhr's V60lp and Fralins Vintage Hot.

....now I'm really leaning towards Lollars Vintage Blackface pickups.

mga sir, my 2nd tone pot (next to the volume) i think can blend the neck and the bridge pups while the other tone pot messes with the bass and treble (overall).

just wanted to know if your strats have the same wiring and if you can share yours.
