Seth Lover Pup Set or SH-55 on my Gibson SG - Love this PAF but I hate the feedback - I use a Noise Reducer but I'm looking for ways to remove the microphonic feedback without potting it.  Any help would be appreciated.
Gibson 57 Classic Set on my Greco SG.

I use the same set as well.Kapag bedroom level wala akong problem with feedback at all. The tricky part is when playing at gig volume since i don't use noise gates.Nakaalalay talaga ako sa volume knob ng guitar and as much as possible medyo lumalayo ako sa amp.=)

Recently got a bkp nailbomb calibrated set with battleworn black cover. So far, my favorite pickup to date. I like it more than the aftermath and painkillers.

Got a lace fingerburner. Didn't like it at first(ice pickey highs). I replaced my black tusq nut to bone. Then boom, love the lead tone.

that is tricky, full gain pa naman super crunch box, i might swap the bridge pickup with the gibson 57 classic - it's close i think but potted

BKP's in most of my guitars.

I also like Dimarzio Titans, Seymour Duncan JB 59, Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker, Lundgren M6, Blackmachine Blackbird, Dimarzio Illuminators, Grosh 60's Fats, etc.

Dem some NICE pups you got there

Not your average run-of-the-mill pups for sure . I've played a buddy's LP w/ the Tims and another w/ Throbaks, and those LP's RAWKED.  I've never had the pleasure of trying the others out, but I hear good things tone-wise. Some of those pickups cost more than some guitars damn.

Oh and the guitars are nice too hehe, wow! :cute:

Mga sir, ano po ang magandang replacement pickup na mura lang pampalit sa stock pickups? I'm not looking for high output or to improve my tone significantly, I just want a nice non-high gain replacement for my stock ones that wont suffer quality-wise  :)

@Sonicassault. What guitar ?

Dean ML X  :) not looking for metal output stuff though, more for blues and cleans, at mahilig ako sa neck pup  :)

I'm planning to take the stock Dean pups and use it on a project guitar I'll be working on  :) naghahanap nga ako nung vintage style pups ng entwistle with covers pero di ata nagsstock dito puro dark star at HDN lang  <_<

Hmm,  the ML X is a basswood body, if you're looking for a bluesy vintage tone... I'd try a P90 pickup set.

http://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/humbuckers/bluesbucker

good selection of other lower output, affordable excellent quality:

http://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/humbuckers/vintage-output?view=grid

http://www.seymourduncan.com/pickups/guitars/other-guitars/p90-pickups

Lollars, Lindy Fralins and others are also good but a little more expensive. the Dimarzios and Seymour Duncans are more readily available, kahit used lang affordable.

Depende rin sa set-up mo, but I'd recommend P90's for sure for a bluesy vintage sound without the bite of higher output pups. Make sure the P90's are a hum-canceling version though kasi may hum yan eh, parang single coil siya.

My humble advice lang :)

thanks for the advice sir, I'll look into it!  :) will have to watch and listen to more demos though, usually kasi mga bridge pickup lang ang nae emphasize  at di ko masyado trip yung P90 dun. pwede ba pagsamahin yung p90 na neck at low output humbucker na bridge?

You're welcome :)

Yeah pwede i-combo ang P90 sa bridge and a humbucker sa neck.. Maybe something like a Pearly gates ? Ang daming choices !

That's the beauty of our hobby, pwede mag experiment sa iba-ibang configurations .

Yup, pwede naman more so if you like the combination of said pickups. Gibson actually had a model called the Les Paul BFG that actually had  that pup combination. Not sure which Burstbucker it had on though.

+1

Mas bagay ang combo na yon sa mahogany, sweet sweet tones.

Pero it should be bagay also on basswood body guitar like Dean ML X.

Pwede, eto yung style din ng lee malia EP e and parang ganto din usual setup ko (with my cheapo gears). Pero dalawang humbuckers gamet ko, naka coil split lang yung neck.

I usually use the dc resistance as a starting gauge, pero di sya rule at all. Usually, vintage stuff around 8 to 8.9 outputs. swabe sa cleans yun, pero mej mababa na pag split coiled. yung akin ngayon nasa 9s yung neck (tone rider ac2) and satisfied naman ako sa coil splits nya.

PEARLY GATES FTW

Sali din ako.

Tonerider AC 2 (no covers) Cheap, but nice. :>

Pasali...

I'm using Tesla Opus 3 Set and Tesla Plasma 3 Set on 2 of my favorite guitars. Happy with both of them. Sounds good and easy on the wallet.

How's the voicing of DiMarzio Titans sir? I'm curious about it. Let's say a comparison to JB and Illuminators, in terms of voicing and output.   :?

How's the voicing of DiMarzio Titans sir? I'm curious about it. Let's say a comparison to JB and Illuminators, in terms of voicing and output.   :?

What hasn’t been said about the JB ? Mainly used in the bridge position, the SH-4 is high-gain, low, punchy, great for blues or hard rock, and can edge into ‘metal’ territory if you have the right rig. Cleans are warm, less sterile than a lot of pups in the bridge.
Guitar used: Carvin CT4 (Mahogany)

The Illuminator bridge is an improvement on the Crunchlab; more ‘open' sounding, bump in the mid-range, less ‘compressed’ sounding than the CL. Cleans so so in the bridge, better in the neck.
Guitar used: EBMM Majesty (Basswood, maple top)

The Titan bridge is full on high gain without the mud, in other words AWESOME. It’s got nice bottom end and mid-range if that makes any sense. TIGHT. It reminds me a lot of a Dominion bridge but with greater output, clarity, sustain and smoother overall. The clean in the neck is just so warm, ‘sparkly’ even, PAF like.; and also great for leads. Overall, compared to the other two: more clarity, tighter mid-range w/ good low, just smoother w/ more sustain.
Guitar used:Ibanez RGA121 (Mahogany)

*For reference:

Set-up 1-guitars > KPA > JBL monitors or DXR10.
Set-up 2- guitars > pedals> Mark V > Two Notes Torpedo Live > JBL monitors or DXR10.

Note that I’m not a big fan of cleans in the bridge, they tend to be ’sterile’ sounding imo. I prefer the neck for cleans, but that’s just me.

Of course, obviously, different guitars, rigs all lend to various end sound/results. So many various factors to consider. That JB 59 combo in my Carvin CT4  which sounded really good sounded not so good in my Washburn WM526, which also had a mahogany body.

My advice is to used other user’s reviews as a ‘guideline’ and check for yourself if it works for your guitar and set-up if chance or circumstance allows.

Plus these are just my opinions/experiences, YMMV as usual. :)
