Why Am harp?
I think you can use 4th position to play Am on a C harp.
try playing "House of the rising sun" on the C harp. That would be in 4th position.

Pag rock, blues or country naman .. Diatonic. But you can use both types to some extent.

sir, pwede n'yo po bang i-explain yung tungkol sa "to some extent?"

"to some extent?"  Since you cannot bend the notes in a Chromatic but can get all the notes...syempre iba ang tunog kahit pareho ang nota. Many can play the Chrom in blues context  are very good but usually they prefer jazzy blues or bluesy jazz.

Some people can bend and overbend all the notes from a Diatonic like Howard Levy , Carlos Del Junco and maybe you. hehehe. Ako hanggang blues on a diatonic lang talaga. Yung mga simple lang. I have a Chrom(C) but use it only to play Blues in 3rd position. Just like using a Diatonic starting in hole 4 (D) draw (inhale).

Kung Stevie Wonder ang gusto mong i-sepra... Chromatic ka na. OK din for pop at ballads.

Guys, yung nabili kong diatonic sa raon is a 48-hole harmonica...

Anong masasabi n'yo? Advantage ng mas maraming hole? Disadvantage ng maraming hole...

Malamang Tremolo Harmonica ang nabili mo. It is good for playing folk and some country and common songs. Upper and lower deck holes are same notes slightly off tuned ang isang deck para mag create ng 'tremolo effect.' Draw(inhale) and blow(exhale) holes are alternate. The diatonic harmonica has two reeds in one hole so meron sya draw and blow note. This arrangement also makes bending possible.
Practice with the tremolo harp will help you when you shift to diatonic after some adjustments.
Maganda din yan. I started on that one too. Good luck.

(example, and blow ko C, tapos and draw ko B)... tama po ba?

Pag nag bend ka sa #1 you get Db.
You can Draw Bend on holes 1,2,3,4 and 6. Tapos Blow bends sa holes 7,8,9,10. Remember in contrast to the guitar where bending the strings will raise the note higher, bending on the harp will lower the note.
Check the internet marami sites na pwedeng pag aralan. O kya bili ka ng libro na meron CD.  Contact Deltaslim he may be able to hook you up with some teachers if you are in M. Manila.
Keep your tremolo harmonica but buy a 10-hole diatonic. Get the best one you can afford.  Good luck.

Tagal ko na may harmonica, and still trying to learn, but until now I think I'm still in the early stage of learning.  How did you get pass such stage? I know it requires practice and perseverance.  My question I guess is geared towards your practice habits, song choices to begin with, video lessons you took/plan to take, teacher if you have any, etc.  Please share, appreciate the help.

Keep on blowing? :-D
