Mga kapatid may tanong lang ako kung paano niyo ginagawa yung mga line-up niyo for Sunday worship? Ibig kung sabihin, how do you go from one song to the next? After fading from the last song do you abruptly start the next song with the drummer giving the cue? Or Seamless yung transition? Meaning walang putol yung accompaniment as you go from one song to the next maski they're on different keys(ex. first song key of  E, next song Key of G)

May nakapagsabi kasi sa amin na parang concert yung dating kung after each song merong more or less 10sec of silence tapos, mag ka count and drummer for the intro of the next song...

Need your opinion on this mga kapatid. Thanks and God bless.

for fast songs, sometimes we do a medley (at least for songs with same key) or we just start the next song right after the worship leader would often say, "oh we praise you Lord.../let's offering a loud clap offering unto the Lord../let's continue to praise God this morning..etc." or sometimes din we do a subtle intro to the song, like yung 16-beat hi-hat patterns and quarter notes bass patterns for the drums tapos yung guitar is just doing some palm-muted licks. pero it still depends kung bagay sa song. basta ang rule of thumb namin is dapat walang dull moments in between praise songs.

it's much easier naman in the case of worship songs because of the longer intervals between each song especially pag may prayer or testimony pa. tapos usually the keyboardist would just play the melody or "babad" lang naman sa strings.

just to share how we do it...

during practice:
It depends sa line-up but we usually start via the drummer "counting stick".  Tas kung kaya idugtong yung song---why not?  Otherwise, putol---w/c goes back to the drummer setting the time.

Duirng worship service:
Depende na sa leading ng Holy Spirit---pag sinabing dugtong---dugtong, pag putol---putol, mas malupit kung palit song---palit song (then you can forget about the lengthy practice that you did the day before).

Overall, we only have one audience---it's really up to the Lord how He wants to be worshipped and that we should conform to that---whether concert man ang dating or otherwise.

+1

kaya pinaka gusto ko mag worship leader yung isang youth sa amin, mada-dama mo talaga ang leading, there is some kind of bond between us musician and this worship leader and to The Holy Spirit.

May time nga na wala nang tinginan sa senyas kung change song or mag tone down.

Nag pe-pray kami before start ng Sunday Service.

@ jolam1431
sa church namin...

Sa transition sa praise, depende rin sa line-up and song leader.
Pero usually pag same key or relative like E and B, we find ways to dugtong. or Right after the song mga 2 secs lng start na ng cue (depende sa song kung drums, bass or guitar ang cue)

For worship, sa praktis lang meron putol, pero pag Sunday service na, talag Leading of the Holy Spirit talaga.
God Bless!

Thanks for the prompt reply mga kapatid, we're now trying to have a smooth transition from one song to another. Mga bagito pa kasi ang ibang band member namin at ang wala sa amin ang yung groove or yung bang playing with one heart and one spirit, kumbaga tulad nung sinabi ni ghostalker.

Problema kasi namin mensan, yung drummer namin ang tagal magbigay ng cue, Keyboardist too shy, mensan sya lang nakakarinig ng tugtug niya and to top it all, a bassist who always goes off key kahit nasa harapan na niya yung bass chords.  :-(,  buti na lang maunawaain si Lord. Basta, we just do it for the Lord,
Siya lang naman ang audience natin diba?

Anyway, thanks for the input mga kapatid (guitbox and shinkenshinobu)

God bless!

yup let the Holy Spirit lead, we are just vessels. Like what I always say sa team before we start, we talked and give instructions during pratcie but during the live praise and worship we need to feel the preasence of the Holy Spirit and let Him guide us. We did our part by practicing God will do the rest.

To answer the question..depende talaga sa lineup, we do medley specially kung same chords and beat..we never stop during transition, if need the drummer to make the cue habang may feedback pa yung guitar papalo na sya then sabay sabay na..and may times din na bass or guitar ang nag iintro.
