Try to unscrew the male XLR end with caution, the wires inside are thin. There is a small screw that holds the male XLR connector in place. Gently pull the XLR connector out and inspect. The upper part of the mic with the capsule also can be unscrewed by hand from the lower part. Again care should be taken. Check if the wires inside are good. Remember to compensate for the wire twist when you replace the two parts together. Screwing them back on would make the wires inside rotate on its axis, stressing the wires further.
