Sir Gretsch Catalina Maple or Tama Hyperdrive. Maganda rin yung Stagg Cymbals, you just have to choose wisely using your hearing.

IMHO, Gretsch does not level with tama in terms of the hardware quality (i.e. Lugs, hoops). Tama pa rin hahahaha

Marame talagang taong galit sa Gretsch! Ahahaha. Papi Ralph, hindi naman lahat ng Gretsch may problema sa hardware. May iba sabi, yung mga gawang China na Gretsch may problema sa mounting hardware. May iba naman sabi swertehan lang rin sa nakuhang model. Well isa ako sa mga swerte, mag 4 years na saken yung Gretsch Catalina Maple ko, okay na okay pa rin. Naging prob talaga ng gretsch yan ,mga paps,pero tinanggal na nila yung china factory na yun.

YAN ETO YAN> yung sa catalina na mounting system. :| pati yung lugs problematic. whew. pero yes, totally agree, amganda rin naman ang gibraltar, very dependable. pero wala eh, iba yung TAMA <3 hahahahaha

also, kung gretsch renown series sigurio, GAME. hahahaha!

Yung drums na gretsch ni vinnie sa 19 east! Hehe,yup I think resolved na ang issue sa lugs ng gretsch

Papi Ralph, yung bagong Gretsch Renown 2013 na Satin White. Meron na ba tayo nun dito sa Pinas? Wala pa ata eh noh? Yon mismo yon. Itsura pa lang!

BTT:
Oo yung mga Renown Series mismo! Napaka-sarap! Highly recommended din para sa mga nagbabalak kumuha ng disenteng drums na hindi ka bibigyan ng sakit ng ulo sa mga mounting hardware.

Pangarap ko yang Gretsch signature ni lolo Vinnie. :-( Kaso napakamahal. Nung pinagiipunan ko na para sumugal ng napakalaking halaga, walangya, bigla naman siyang umalis sa Gretsch. Wala na ring ginagawang signature set niya. Kahit nga yung signature snare niya sa Gretsch wala na rin. Sobrang rare. :-(

Haha. Wala nakong balita sa kanya. Dibale pag natyempuhan ko minsan. Hehe

Based sa sinabi ng Gretsch, wala silang sariling hardware. Gibraltar lang talaga ang gumagawa para sa kanila. Pero sa ibang nakita ko naman, may hardware ang Gretsch na tatak Gretsch mismo at wala ni isang sticker o logo ng Gibraltar. Actually meron sa site nila eh. Mga mounting hardware na Gretsch, tas yung iba Gibraltar na.

Gibraltar usually ang hardware ni gretsch.

Papi Musician Nurse, solid nga yung RENOWN in WHITE :((( yun din yung tinutukoy ko nung sinabi kong renown huhuhuhu tsalap!

@alvin, oo papa, yung sa 19east... hayop din yon! kaso ang gusto kong kit nila is yung yamaha :D kumakanta yung toms eh :D

Mga sirs, at last we were able to buy our first Drum Kit. Its a Tama Rhythm Mate paired with Zildjian ZBT Bronze 13" hi-hat, 16" crash at  18" na ride, yung Imperial Star sana kaso walang stock and it would be more or less two weeks pa yung delivery kaso hindi na ako makapaghintay hehehe... post ko pics later...

Everything is worth the wait brod.. Lalo na sa musical instrument, you gotta trust me on this.
Hindi panget ang Tama Rhythm Mate, baka lang kung nakita mo si Imperial Star, mas nagustuhan mo siya ^-^

Short OT lang:
Gustong gusto kong kit non pa lang, Gretsch na. May pera pambili, pero kulang. Yan na, dumating nako sa "hindi makapaghintay" moment. Nalaman ko, mas mura pala itong Yamaha Gigmaker. Sabi ko ito na lang para may drums na, di nako makapaghintay eh. May nagpayo saken, wag daw. Di daw dahil sa panget ang gigmaker, pero dahil sa hindi naman talaga yon ang gusto ko. So ako ito, napaisip. Tama nga yung nagpayo. Konting tiis pa, iniisip naten matagal kasi araw, linggo, buwan ang bibilangin. Pero mabilis lang ang panahon ngayon brod. Ayun, nagulat na lang ako ayan na kumpleto na ang pambili ng Gretsch. Sarap gamitin, kasi yon talaga ang gusto ko.

I think you should be more wary of the drummer's striking technique for the cymbal. wrong hitting techniques are usually to blame for cymbal damage.

Keyholes I think were done to get the sweet spot of handmade cast cymbals to stay put in one place. ZBTs are sheet cymbbals so they sound the same everywhere. Besides, you'd probably do more damage to your ZBTs by keyholing them from the get-go, especially if you don't know what you're doing. Felts and sleeves lang kailangan mo. And those plastic fishtank hoses, for emergencies  :)
