pasali uli..

a pre-75 Greco. when i got it looked worn-out but sounded wild! but still needs attention. after a month of use, i brought it to roadtone guitars for my personal set up: new pups, ibanez INF1 & 2, new strings, new pup rings *from black to cream*, fret leveled, action adjusted and now it's in the right intonation.. plus, naka grover tuners na!

i was supposed to sell this for 15k only, but when i used it sa praktis namin, man, it really rocks, with it's mojo (relic na relic) and the sound, it's a keeper compare to the les pauls i've had..!!

post ko na rin yung pic nung LP's ko:

Burny LP Custom with Seymour Duncan Jazz neck and Bill Lawrence L500XL pickups
Yamaha Studio Lord Sl-550s with Burny VH-1 neck pickup and Dimarzio PAF Pro bridge pickup

meron akong Dimarzio Evo neck dati na for swap sa classifieds, then a forum mem (i forgot his name hehe) offered to swap with a Dimarzio PAF daw. yun pala DP 151 PAF Pro siya. akala ko naisahan na ko, pero ok pala yung PAF Pro. medium output pickup with transparent EQ. ang sarap tuloy ipang-rock nung Yamaha ngayon. :-)

GRETSCH G5235T pla to. a more decent pic (not mine from Gretsch website)

http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/index.php?product=G5235T&cat1=&cat2=&q=G5235T&st=2#

the bridge pup sound a bit gritty for my taste, good for brit rock type. overdriven, it gives a lovely solo tone. the neck has that mellow jazzy tone i like, similar to a hollowbody but not as muddy. i realize this guitar is chambered which somehow explains that.

however, i believe a change in tone capacitors would greatly improve the sound of this one cause i think it has more to offer but the tone sweep doesnt bleed as i feel it could.

the neck is A-ok, for me. you see we all have preferences. i hate very thin necks. and this doesnt have one. i would say its more like C profile but not thin. just right. between thin and thick (relative to my hands). and mejo malapat sha on the board so easy on my fingers.

its heavier than my 2 epi LPs (between an epi and gibby) which explains the denser sound it gives. with a fantastic set up (its sleeping in its case under my niece's bed in the PI) its a really nice guitar to play. tried to set it up myself but i had problems with the tuning due to the bigsby but it now has settled nicely. i just kept yanking it back and forth to 'mature' the spring.

ayos yung gretch ni grasyaps ah parang kapareho nung kay Nigel ng Hillsong United...magkano score mo jan sir?

uncles are heaven sent. my uncle came from the US with it and left it with me. i do hope he will do the same next time with his Gibson (hahaha sana talaga).

Not all LPs have fat necks. usually the 50s era are fat. 60s have slim necks.
Epi les pauls (std and custom) usually weigh the same as with other LPs.

+1 , I have a LP that has the 60's profile neck on it. its so slim, but not like the RG's and other shred gitz that is shred thin, 60's is just in the middle perfect. compared to the 50' LP and RG's
