In all truth, I was preparing a lesson plan last night but was stopped when it came to hardware since the technology is in a flux; multiple cores are now becoming the norm and it's impact on computer recording will slowly be felt by all. I could have discussed the merits of comparing the different platforms and OS, but with XP on the way out while Vista was still unproven, it became clear that software was the one thing that was consistent at this juncture. This was one of the reasons why I asked what the attendees were using. I think in part 2, we will concentrate more on software techniques with modules on Audition, Cubase, and Sonar, and a section for those who do midi.
