here's a closer look sa bumper cases na sold separately..

mas maganda kung black sa white iPhone.. tapos the other way around naman for the white case.. actually this is not a case if you look at it.. its more of a "wrap-band" na po-protektahan nya lang yung stainless steel sides nung iphone while not covering the beauty of the front and back panels (which is all scratchproof glass)

maganda talaga yung white iPhone 4  :-D

@Juzaen: yep I agree, kung titingnan ko sa trabaho ko ngayon eh mas magagamit ko pa yung iPad kesa dito (since may iphone 2G pa ako) kaso I really expected the iPad to carry the Mac OS-X not a mere iPhone OS..

I guess ito nalang din ang hihintayin ko. Maglabas sila ng bagong version ng iPad. Mas magagamit ko for business.

looks good! (except the cobalt blue side protectors)

i can imagine a white iPhone 4 with a black protector, or a black version with a red protector. POGI.

i checked the apple site earlier this morning. it can shoot in hd raw. and for the price, good thing i postponed my purchase of an iphone. pero lets see what initial reviews would say once it has been released.

Same here. I'm getting them from the US direct when they're available.

Impractical nga kung hindi mo namamaximized ung features ng phone at hindi mo ginagamit sa business or sa work mo.

Exactly.

Question to all:

So, it's gonna be my first time to get an Iphone. Ever. If I do get it from the US when it does come out, can it be serviced, unlocked here? And will our SIM cards be used here without any problems?

turi all I know is that the iPhone 4's iOS4 is already "jailbreakable" pero about the unlock im not really sure.. all we can do is atleast wait for the devteam to release a soft-unlock for it.. or our best bet will be:

to wait until Singapore or Hong Kong offer it.. because all Singapore units will be "Factory-Unlocked" (since they have a law there yata that prohibits lock-in among telcos).

in that way magiging competitive ang mga iPhone 4 prices sa gray market.. pero ikaw ang bahala if you want to order direct from US, surely AT&T locked yun pero its just a matter of time before the devteam release a new soft-unlock for it.  8-)

cool! baka pwede magpasabay if ever? hehehe shoit I need to gather funds fast! :-D

here's a comparison between the iPhone 4's "Retina Display" vs the current iPhone 3GS' regular display

iPhone 4

iPhone 3GS

see how sharp it is? pero personally wala naman ako problema viewing pages in my iphone as I can just pinch to zoom in to read clearly, pero syempre this 300+dpi Retina Display resolution is a waay to sweet feature to pass.

Yep. Exacly why I want it. Sure. Sabay ka if you want. But I want to be absolutely sure first na pwede na dito yan if we do get directly sa US. Plug and play as we say it.

yun lang, mas safe kasi kung "factory unlock" ang kukunin natin.. so safest is to wait Apple to release it sa Singapore and Hong Kong.

kung AT&T unit kasi ang kukunin natin eh hihintayin pa natin yung software unlock ng devteam.. eh kahit magkaron sila ng beta release eh di pa rin natin sure kung safe yun dahil bagong baseband nanaman yan bagong bootloader, procedures ek ek..

not to mention yung warranty pa nung unit..

turns out hindi ganun katibay yung scratch-proof glass cover ng iphone 4..

dropped from 3ft (3x)

nabagsak ko yung 2G ko ng tatlong beses since I got it 2 years ago.. the last drop was courtesy of my mom :-D pero wala pa rin kahit isang maliit ng crack yung glass nung iPhone ko and no dents whatsoever, the only thing na hindi naiwasan is yung scratches sa back aluminum casing.. that's why I love my 2G at kahit magkaron ako ng 4G eh gagawin ko pa ring backup phone yung 2G ko. =)

another photo

pero again according sa article nito eh walang inner parts itong test unit na ito.. so mas magaan sya sa totoong iPhone 4, kumbaga tinest nila specifically yung built nung case.. so di talaga natin alam unless merong mag drop test ng officially released iPhone 4 (lets wait for the Ars Technica and PC World stress test videos).

siguro kaya nag release din ang apple ng official "bumper" cases to be sold separately para mas protektahan yung "sides" nito.. since nagagasgas din ang stainless steel, and I think effective shock absorber din yung rubber material ng bumper cases to slightly cushion yung iPhone 4 incase mabagsak (pwera nalang kung mabagsak sya flat faced).

check this out.. this was taken using an iPhone 4!

auto daw lahat ng settings but when the image is viewed via iexif ito ang lumalabas na settings:

Aperture: 2.97
Color space: Uncalibrated
Date and time: 2010/05/07 15:14
Exposure: Auto exposure
Exposure time: 1/887
Flash: Flash did not fire, auto mode
FNumber: 2.8
Focal length: 3.85
ISO speed rating: 80
Metering mode: Spot
Sharpness: Hard
White balance: Auto

according sa article yung treatment ng shot is over-saturated with over-emphasized exposure.. medyo matapang and was same as how Nikon DSLR's treat their photos in "auto" mode.

pero remember na this shot was taken in optimal light conditions so di pa natin alam kung paano ito magperform in low-light situations.. kung paano magcompensate yung led flash nya sa auto-settings.. at kung may noise ba pag nag high ISO settings ka in low-light.

all in all the iPhone 4 can be nice point and shoot camera na rin.. (that's in my opinion)

if you plan on getting as soon as they hit the US market, they're most definitely NOT plug and play here in the Philippines, since they are still most probably AT&T locked. tho as rockophoria says, it's only a matter of time before unlocked versions (and procedures on how-to) arrive here in the Philippines.

I just called U.S. iPhone technical support:
(800) MY-IPHONE (800-694-7466)

they said that if we dont' use the 3G nor 4G feature of their phones, then it should work here when it's bought from the US. lol. I don't know if this is even true. lol.

buti nalang dummy phone lang ito..

it just sucks everytime an new apple product is being tortured, seems to me there are really alot of apple haters around the world.....

when apple 2-g came out 2 guys broke it open with a chisel and smashed it with a sledgehammer

when the ipad came out,one guy blended it till it was just like sugar....

i bet somebody's gonna do much worse to a brand new 4g than just dropping it off 3ft

i think its become a trend to destroy a new apple product right out of the box everytime one comes out...

Because Apple itself and Apple fanbois are notorious in claiming greatness and innovation. :) But these days, Google is the darling of the geek crowd. And Apple transformed into the big brother in their 1984 ad.

if we come to think of it di naman ganun ka-revolutionary ang products ng apple.. in my opinion what they do is "reinventing" what is common.. kumbaga nirere-engineer nila ang isang technology tapos binigyan nila ng unique "style" on how to use and enjoy that technology.. ang tawag dun is "User Experience"  :-D

before the iPhone eh marami ng touchscreens na naglipana sa market (I think yung Sony Ericsson P910i ang pinaka-lates nung year na yun) pero yung iPhone is "iba" kasi astig yung experience na ibinigay nung user interface nya sa mga users.. sobrang bilis ng response (almost no lag at all) unlike yung mga touchscreens nung panahon na yun eh merong mili-second delay kada pindot.. and who can attest na the "multi-touch" technology is not revolutionary? walang nakaisip nun nung panahon na yun.. lahat ng touchscreens nun single-touch-response lang.. (kumbaga literal na touch-screen lang) unlike sa iPhone na may pinch to zoom, hold and press.. swipe and double tap.

what I love about Steve Jobs is he's no engineer.. he's no programmer.. sales person sya actually and he knows what product to offer the best.. kumbaga pag sinabi ni Steve Jobs na "I want it like this" sasabihin ng programmer at engineer "Its not possible with the current technology" then sasabihin ni Steve "Then lets go at R&D". after a year or two meron na silang bagong produkto.

in short "visionary" si Steve.. hindi nya iniisip kung ano yung pwedeng "ibenta kaagad ngayon" what he wants is "what can we give tomorrow" or "how can we change, revolutionize and reinvent the future".  8-)
