OBESITY levels are climbing in the UK with one in four adults classed as obese despite endless government health warnings and initiatives to try to combat the problem.

Experts argue about what is causing the UK population to pile on the pounds, with some saying sugar is to blame and others pointing the finger at sedentary lifestyles.

One thing health professionals agree on however, is saturated fat.

Saturated fats are found in processed meats like sausages, burgers and ham as well as hard cheeses, butter, lard, whole milk and cream.

The NHS advise saturated fats should be minimised in a healthy diet as eating too much of it increases the amount of cholesterol in your blood.
