Steady progress! Here's what she looked like with the basic nitro filler

Thank you guys!

Hoping this'll be done in a few weeks so I can break her in. I have to slightly confess, this is part of a personal experiment of mine.\

If you're curious about the specs:

Roasted Maple Neck. 12" radius, almost flat back. Rolled edges. It'll be naked: no finish.
Hipshot tuners
Jescar Fretwire
Roasted Pine Body
Barden Danny Gatton Bridge
5-way super switch with Jerry Donahue Wiring
Bournes Pots
a pair of SD Classic Tele Stacks
... and some other tricks that are OC in level. ;-)

I'm tipping my hat off to a bunch of my tele faves: gatton, donahue, brent mason (uses SD stacks), et al.

I love the feel of unfinished necks. But wouldn't that be prone to warping?  :-(  I'd hate to see that beautiful work in progress go to waste if it does

I think roasted maple doesn't really require a finish since it's stable enough to handle any humid situation

Nico is correct, roasted / tempered / thermo treated wood is virtually impervious to humidity changes due to the low moisture level. Aside from that benefit, they pretty much sound like old, seasoned wood.

Here's a neat Juho Ruokangas vid explaining it further: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GTkWgw8fHs

The sources for roasted wood are actually increasing. The ready-made bodies and necks from Warmoth, USACG, and Musikraft are inde pricey, but are much cheaper as neck and body blanks from other tonewood suppliers. I purchased my roasted maple and pine blanks from Luthier's Mercantile. Shipping cost just about as much as the wood.

Oh, don't be! Willing to let you take a bite when it's done  :-D

Received updates just today, she's coming together nicely. I'm hoping that she'll be on my lap next weekend to kill my stress.

My heart skips a beat everytime I receive an update from Mike. Last time I felt this way was when I was exchanging letters with my crush in college! Hahahaha... guitars make you sick...

Gold would've been nice but I have difficulty liking how it tarnishes. I went with the usual chrome harware.

As per Mike, this guitar looks much more brown in person. The neck is has a light, milk chocolate appearance. The natural lighting must've given the shot a yellow-orange kind of tint.
