NGD (arrived last night)

i like how the carved the heel on this one

the post spacing and trem route is compatible with wilkinson trems and thats what getting for it

already glued the frets in and did a full fret finishing to ensure the playability and the neck is stable

the guitar has my preferred weight and feels very solid. neck profile close to my edroman baker.
sx tuners for this one is good, doesnt have any play in them like the others i have.

This is a thing of beauty, Bry! Who would've thought SX could produce something like this? Congrats, chief!

my answer will be based on what has been sold here in the Philippines. It could be kasi na those you have seen are only distributed overseas.

1st gen - STL50: fugly headstock, vintage kluson-type machine heads, vintage toploader bridge
2nd gen - FTL50: fenderish headstock, 1 string tree, vintage kluson-type machine heads, string through, modern bridge
3rd gen - FTL50: fenderish headstock, 2 string trees, modern machine heads, string through, modern bridge, excess wood near the neck pocket was also removed.

mine was from the 2nd gen.

lol "fugly"

Ayun. Kaya pala may FTL50 with kluson type tuners din akong nakikita sa net. FTL50 na pala ang newer models, 2nd gen ang pinaka gusto kong specs. Youre so lucky sir you have one
Thanks sa info sir.

well, to be honest, mejo incosistent yung 2nd gen -- build wise. if you still want, you could try mine. meet me near Vito Cruz area. :) you might also want to buy it. :D PM me

pero i'f i were to look for another SX tele, i'd go for the 3rd gen. mas pulido ng kaunti yung pagkakagawa. mas maganda pati ang paint job. haha. SX is good if you're really in a tight budget. I'd still play a SX tele over a squier calif or affinity one. pero kung makakapag ipon ka naman, go for the squier standard or classic vibe or go further and buy a japanese reissue.

Hopefully makabisita ako soon! there is someone who is asking for a trade with my pedal (Sansamp TriAC) and i believe he's tele belongs to the newest model (3rd gen). If ever matuloy, at makabisita ako sa place niyo, alam na! hahaha trade na yan!

pero kung makakapag ipon ka naman, go for the squier standard or classic vibe or go further and buy a japanese reissue.

Japanese Tele! FTW.

got this a day ago SX RST in seafoam green

but basically i took the guitar apart, i spent close to 2 hours working on the neck/frets. i re-tapped all the frets, glued them in, removed the residue then re-level the frets,de-burr and polish.

for the fretboard i oiled it up, looked for raised area's and using a nail file, level those flush and then using sand paper grits 3000-6000 on the fretboard it gives it a nice slick feel, anybody who owned a new suhr/anderson with a rosewood fretboard will know how those feel like, like the rosewood itself is sealed up.

i took out the nut reshape and cut it right, they use those nylabone fancy word for plastic

the neck wood quality is good in this one, solid feel, nice figuring but it was too rough feeling, so i burnished the neck, applied some gunstock wax and worked that neck lol

the seafoam finish out of the box was duller, a light buffing with some car wax polish made the difference, like night and day. the clear is thin which is good but it scratches/dings up easily.

hardware and electronics nothing much to say, they just work for a beginner guitar.

came with some tuner/picks/gig bag/ strap, how to play guitar dvd,

here's some crappy iphone pics

Here's my SX's with single coils
